2021年発売、レゴ・スピードチャンピオンシリーズのマクラーレン・エルバです。スピードチャンピオンシリーズ品はその年の初頭に販売されることが多かったですが、昨年のモデルには組付け説明書や箱絵で間違いがあり、その反省を踏まえてか、今年は販売モデルの発表も遅れ、期間が空きました。

実車のマクラーレン・エルバは運転席前に気流をコントロールするアクティブ・エアマネジメントシステム(AAMS)を備えているため、ウインドスクリーンが無いのが特徴です。そのため本製品にも透明パーツのウインドスクリーンは付属していません。白いシートはプリント部品でした。

本製品の車幅は昨年モデルと同じで8スタッド(丸ポッチ8個)分です。大型化されているとは言え、基本的にブロックでの再現ですし、ある程度仕方ないのですが実車より直線的です。マッドカード上側のスタッド部露出が気になりますし、運転席前のボンネットにあたる箇所はヒンジ部品を使っているのに角度が殆ど付いていないのが残念な点です。

しかし左右ドア部分の傾斜を付けた組付け方は褒めるべき箇所でしょう。さすがにレゴ正規品です。リアランプの表現も独特の組付け方で、完璧ではありませんが感心します。近年のレゴ製品は便利な部品が増えたせいもあって、特にレゴ・シティシリーズ品などは平凡な組付け方が多く見受けられますが、このシリーズ品に限っては、本当に組付けアイデアが豊富です。本製品の再現性も満点とはいきませんが、良い方だと思います。(2021年モデルで問題なのは「トヨタ GR スープラ #76901」品でしょう)　昨年モデルから期間が空きましたが、複雑な形状の再現性と組付けアイデアを評価して★4つとしました。

Fun Build, and Impressive Car

Firstly, this car is a pretty easy build; for any age really, nothing proved too difficult - and there were plenty of unique pieces, particularly in this colour. I really liked the use of transparent red axe blades for the rear lights - there's a few technically advanced connections in this set that are just satisfying to see done. Some pieces are printed, which is always a bonus, but once more, LEGO have put a lot of faith in the irreversible system of stickers. Sure, this is more of a collector's thing - I don't see as many kids being interested in this set - but stickers are a pain for children who want this, and the parents of those who would want to build this.
Also, it seems nitpicky but of all the cars in LEGO's Speed Champions series, this one isn't the most faithful. With LEGO, you're never to capture the sleek curves and peaks of modern day supercars, but comparing the finished thing to the car itself, it's not the best likeness.
Still, the finished set does look very cool, and the many sloped pieces prove a worthy attempt. It's still a nice looking car.
For the price, too, this set is pretty good. LEGO sets are pretty much always overpriced these days, but this one is better value than most. The little driver minifigure you get with this also looks great, the wheels work well and as a whole, the car serves its purpose as easily constructable and an ornamental piece.

Good introductory Lego Model- easy to follow instructions

This set was fairly easy for our 7 year old to make independently apart from needing help with the stickers. He wasn’t too keen on the shape and once built made some alterations, reporting he would have liked it to have opening doors. He was disappointed it didn’t have a windscreen- but as its based on the McLaren Elva its difficult to fault it for that. He also felt that the back was a bit chunky although I liked the exhaust detail. It comes with two hubcaps to choose between and one minifig female driver- with interchangeable helmet and hair. It drives on hard floor well and has been raced against another on the Lego Speed cars- sometimes driving straight and others almost drifting which he enjoyed.
It’s a nice car for the price given Lego’s usual price range.

So wie Lego sein sollte

Für knapp 15€ (momentaner Preis auf Amazon) bekommt man hier jede Mange geboten. Man baut sich hier einen kleinen blauen Sportwagen zusammen, welcher für Lego schon sehr anspruchsvoll ist. Es sind fast ausschließlich Blaute und schwarze Teile verbaut (es wird nur wenig rot, weiß und gelb zur Orientierung verwendet und später verkleidet). Das ist genau das was ich auch von einen Lego Set erwarte, damit es später auseinandergenommen werden kann und zu anderen Gebilden zusammengefügt werden kann.
Der Aufbau war kein Problem, doch sind die vielen Winkel und dazugehörigen Teile für diesen Preis schon eine kleine Besonderheit und das so am Ende entstehende Autor ein wirklicher Augenschmaus. Doch leider liegen wieder Mals einige Sticker mit dabei, welche man aber auch getrost weglassen kann (es sieht auch ohne Sticker sehr schick und nach einem Sportwagen aus). Leider gibt es auch weiterhin Probleme mit dem Blauton einiger Steine (gerade, weil die 2x4-Fließe matt ist und der Rest glänzend) und auch die Anguspunkte der Steine lassen sich nicht immer verstecken.

Dennoch bin ich hier wirklich positiv überrascht worden, was man doch für einen kleinen Preis von Lego erwarten darf.

LEGO is that name on the tin that tells you exactly what you're getting.

This is a quality set with a quality price, but for the money you get a decent model, good instructions and maybe forty minutes to an hour of peace and quiet.
