Love the Beast - A DVD for any Car Enthausiast!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 July 2010Verified Purchase
I heard about this film, when Eric Bana was the star in a reasonably price car on Top Gear and was interested back then. The turning point for me, was when a new colleague from work who is from Tazmania, Australia recommended the movie as it featured beautiful cars and the area he was from Tazmania.
From start to finish the movie is full of emotion, which I instantly felt due to keeping all my cars for considerable time, spending all my time and money on maintenance and restoration of them.
I related to this film hugely, and although it is technically not a movie and is a documentary, it is a very good evening watch with a beer. With Jeremy Clarkson and other stars taling to Eric Bana, about emotion and love for a car, it showed me that I am not the only one. I really recommend this movie to anyone interested in cars and especially people who have kept cars for a long time, even when they could have something newer or better in certain ways.
This is 5 star in my eyes!

I love this film

I love this film. The story of Eric Bana’s love affair with his Falcon XB car. Bought as a wreck in his teens, lovingly upgraded and raced in is adult years. Bana comes across as a genuinely nice guy, a family man with a passion for his car. Recommended.

Nice to see that he is a down to earth ...
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 March 2016Verified Purchase
The film is about Eric and his mates through the years he has owned the car, but as a true petrol head I found the film entertaining and worth the purchase.
Nice to see that he is a down to earth guy who's stayed in contact with his mates and hasn't forgotten where he has come from.

Petrol Head confessions

If you are looking at this DVD you are either an Eric Bana 'actor' fan or a car nut.
I would suggest that if you are female and the former this isn't going to be for you but if you are the latter then it is going to be right up your street. It is a story that will ring true for many of us who have grown up with mates and cars and spanners!
Enjoy!

A great introduction to Australian heavy metal
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 July 2010Verified Purchase
A great introduction to the world of Australian over-powered and under steered autos. A love story between man and car, and like a lot of rugged amorous Australian love affairs, ends up with tears before bedtime. Mssrs Clarkson and Leno contribute fine cameo appearances in this introduction to Ford Falcons which is very easy on the eye. Eric Baner's best film yet, in the humble opinion of a complete petrolhead like me.
