Another good book. This author has a way of writing the details of the world, the characters and their way of thinking really well. I’m still waiting for the next stage in her career and family. Will she get promoted up? Will she have children? Can you imagine if she was pregnant and trying to juggle work and coffee! I wouldn’t also mind a book where Dallas is targeted by ex criminal, a bit more fighting between Dallas and Roarke (as the work well but also have many differences), but I also enjoy the great chemistry between them. This series would make a great movie/tv series.

A great story from Eve and Roarke, I enjoyed the way they worked together throughout this story and shocked me with only one fight...lol I did miss Sommerset throughout this story his presence just wasn't what it has been in the past, and everyone else seemed more in the background with this story than previous stories which were different and not really good or bad but just pointed through my read that things were missing but Eve and Roarke were good so even though I loved it after i finished I sat back and thought it was good but just missing something.

I'm about half way through the book but as always another amazing story by Nora Roberts, and one of the more interesting that I've read of her recent releases.
Though I have thoroughly enjoyed every book in the series, it is my absolute favorite.
Only down side is that quite a few typos have made it through.
E.g.. to night, words that are plural look like eg. word es.
Small annoyances but it has affected me reading experience.

The book started off with so much promise. I really did think that maybe JD Robb was back on top, but too much detail with cop procedure soon turned the book with so much promise, to one of complete boredom. I almost didn't finish it but at £9.99 I made myself. If this wasn't JD Robb but a debut novel by some unknown author, it would have been my first and last time reading them. Sad to say, but I think the series is done. It's just nowhere else to go. Even Roarke is boring. I mean are we to believe that a billionaire has an unlimited amount of time to help his wife. Even Peabody bored me to tears. If you want to relieve the glory days, pick up the first few books in the series. That was Robb writing as her best. Now, they're just using her name to sell books and I for one am tired of it.

I can hardly believe this is the latest "In Death" book by J.D Robb.It was so boring after trying to get into it for the first 60 pages I more or less skimmed through it.I have got everyone of Robbs " In Death" books and I have never given her a bad review,but this is truly boring and doesn't seem like Robbs usual work.I also have seen the price of her next pre order "In Death" book and after this RUBBISH of a book I find the thought of paying nearly £15 for more books like this one unacceptable.Goodbye Dallas and Rourke after our many many years together.Also the greed of these authors and the publishers are beyond belief....

When Eve is called to the scene of a suicide bombing nobody can understand why a well respected family man suddenly decided to kill eleven people. But then they discover his wife and child tied up in their home and it all becomes clear, Paul Rogan was given the terrible choice between setting off a bomb, killing himself and his colleagues, or watching as his family was tortured and killed. Paul did something unthinkable but at the same time he, and his family, were also victims and now Eve will be the one to get them justice. When a second bomb is detonated Eve quickly realises that the killers aren't going to stop but it's now a race to figure out who the next target could be and why.

It's no secret that I'm totally addicted to this series, I can't get enough of these books and I'm getting nervous now that I've nearly caught up to the latest release and I'm soon going to have to start waiting for the next release just like all the other fans of these books. It's great that J.D. Robb writes so fast but I can't believe I'm saying that 50 books is not enough for this series! Anyway, this was another interesting case and I loved that we got to spend so much time with Eve and Roarke in this one. They're such a fab couple and I love it when they're working together.

There were some really sweet / funny moments with Bella, especially her name for Summerset, but what I enjoyed most was seeing how far Eve has come in her friendships. This is the second book in a row where she goes out of her way to do something really special for Peabody and McNab and it's just not the kind of thing that Eve from book one would have ever thought about. The epilogue was brilliant, a great way for Eve to be involved with a certain celebration without having to step into the spotlight. I've already started reading the next book, there is just no stopping me at this point!

I've read all Nora Roberts books and all of this series to-date. However, this is way too far-fetched in storyline and motive for doing it the way the baddies do it, particularly with the second bombing/murder. I could go with the motive behind the first bombing, just about, but the second is ridiculous. I agree with one of the other reviews that the usual repartee between Dallas and Peabody is missing, and there is little between Dallas and Roarke. It suffers from having too many victims, so Dallas's usual closeness to the victim is missing
and also suffers from lack of the usual participates. I would seriously question whether even a police officer of the calibre of Dallas could solve such a complex case in the space of a week when there are only 4 officers actually on the case including Dallas (there are the e-geeks as well, but I haven't counted them), when she has only one clue to go on from the first bombing. Plus, surely, as she suspected with Jordan Banks that the perpetrator probably lived within his building or knew it well, why didn't she interview the residents first or at least look into their background; she does this much later but not in the beginning. As with all of this series I enjoyed reading the book, but not her best in my opinion.

The murderer in this book is one of the most evil in the whole.series (to my mind) physically and psychologically torturing a father till he does.The unspeakable and turns himself.into a suicide bommer. In his dying moments he heard the screams of his wife and child and can only hope the perpetrators will keep.their word and spare his family from the threatened fate. So begins Eve Dallases 47th case and it's a page turner. All the regular elements are here, the snark with Somerset, romance with husband Roarke, affection with her partner Peabody and so on. It also has a few.lightness moments but it's the killers.who made this book so memorable for me, suicide bombing is a terrorist device most often so to see it used here for the killers purpose, well it took my mind a while.to grasp it and it throws Eve and Roarke off too initially. It takes Eve a while.to find her usual groove and begin to picture those responsible for what turns out to be only the beginning of a very difficult.case. Almost.fifty books in to still be writing at such a high standard and finding new avenues to explore Me Robb is an amazing writer
