I bought this for my 3.5 yr old and it's too detailed for his current range. The flaps are all quite small and can see them damaging quickly.

So much information and enough flaps to lift to keep the kids occupied.

An engaging treasure trove of information for little dino fans
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 June 2019Verified Purchase
What a treasure trove of information this wonderful book is for little dino fans! Beautifully designed and illustrated, with 5-6 flaps to a page, it can’t fail to capture the attention of children from as young as 2 up until age 7 and older. Almost everything you could want to know about dinosaurs is right here, and in a language that is very easy to understand.
What I love most about the book is that lots of the questions are exactly the kind of things that a curious 3 year-old would come up with: What did dinosaurs do all day? Were dinosaurs good parents? Did dinosaurs eat humans? Why are dinosaurs called dinosaurs? Not exactly the kind of answers that most parent have at their fingertips or can find easily on Google! I also like how it uses objects that kids can easily relate to, to explain things like how big (double decker bus), how small (chicken), wing size (as long as a plane’s), teeth size (as long as bananas), and so on.
The book is a large-format hardback with 12 pages and about 60 flaps of sturdy cardboard. Questions are on the flaps, answers underneath. I bought it for my 2 grandsons (almost-2 and almost-3), and they both get so much pleasure from it in entirely different ways. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Thanks for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful. Check out my Amazon profile page for more reviews of children’s books, puzzles and educational toys and games.

Brilliant leaving tool for all ages including us adults!

This book is a great interactive book which is perfect for all ages from around 3 years of age.
I brought it for my little ones 3rd birthday and he absolutely loves it. Together we have learnt so much. I am proof you are never to old to learn new facts or in my sons case to young.
It loses a star from me as I was hoping I would learn the different names of the dinosaur but that isn't covered in this book. I have taken a photo of the contents page so you can see all the subjects are covered.
I would highly recommend.

Perfect, fun reference books for younger kids
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 December 2020Verified Purchase
This is one of Usborne’s lift the flap books which is similar to other ‘See Inside’ collection. We have seven others, that’s how much I love them! We have two boys age 6 and 4 and both of them return time and time again to these books and this one in particular is brilliant for Dino mad kids.
The language in the book is a perfect balance – it’s simple enough that my six-year-old can now read them, but includes vocabulary like carnivore, herbivore and gastroliths that even keep me and my husband on our toes at weary bedtimes! The flaps keep interest going through facts that would otherwise swamp us and be boring in another format. My six-year-old is at the point where he loves answering questions, and this fits the bill. I love them so much, I often buy them as presents as well.
The book is double pages. Each page is thick card and I found the flaps robust. Our boys are not gentle though and I do find that the paper in the spines get torn (see picture) I wouldn’t detract a star for this though as it doesn’t affect use.
Overall, another fabulous buy from Usborne, meeting the need for reference books aimed at younger learners.

My boy is only 2 but he loves dinosaurs. It’s probably a bit old for your average 2 year old but he’s nearly 3.. he also loves learning and is very clever. He enjoys lifting up the flaps and seeing pictures of all the different dinosaurs. Would definitely recommend

Informative and good for those children obsessed with Dinosaurs
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 January 2021Verified Purchase
My daughter suddenly started spouting out dinosaur names at 5 years of age (probably from Youtube) so purchased as Christmas present "from Santa" to help non digital learning. She loves it as it not only helps her see new dinosaurs/ones she already knows but also provides knowledge about them also. Pages like how, why, which yes or no help do this with pop up flaps which helps keep my child engaged.
All in all a good book and i've learnt some things along the way too.
