I am a fitness freak and doing yoga since ages but this book realised me that I am a newbie and I don't know any thing.
Well the most hatred thing in this world is when someone kick to break your ego.
And Sir BKS IYENGAR Sir realised me that I am nothing. I can simply bet that even if you are a yoga teacher you might not have heard about many yoga poses mentioned in this book.
Light On Yoga is a GITA OF YOGA.This book deserves a huge respect .

I go to yoga classes every week and wanted to learn more, so I bought this book to understand more about yoga.
It really is a fantastic reference book. Every pose is explained in detail and reasons are given why the pose is good for you. There are clear pictures for every pose and for the more complicated of poses (I won't be trying those for a while) the photos show each stage of how to get into position.
Some of the positions are pretty hard core, but all the well known, regular poses are explained too.
This book is great for the beginner or more advanced yogi.
If you are keen to learn more about yoga positions especially how to be perfectly aligned and focus on the correct posture then this book is for you.
I have mine on my coffee table and keep returning to it as a reference.
This book is invaluable for any student of yoga.

Probably not a book for a total beginner though.....I wouldn't recommend learning a yoga pose or Pranayama totally from a book unless you'd had some prior guidance...or knew your body well.
Would love to have this in a kindle version so I can take it with me....

Love it, a great reference book
