Product description

Line of Duty returns for a second series, featuring a new police corruption story told over six one-hour episodes. The series opens explosively with the ambush of a police convoy in which three police officers are killed and a protected witness is seriously injured. The sole surviving police officer is Detective Inspector Lindsay Denton (Keeley Hawes). Deputy Chief Constable Mike Dryden (Mark Bonnar) takes personal charge, assigning AC-12 to the case. Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott (Martin Compston), Detective Constable Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) and Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar) are joined by newly-appointed Detective Constable Georgia Trotman (Jessica Raine) to investigate a complex case rich in unexpected twists and turns. Initially AC-12's most valuable witness, the suspicion soon, arises that DI Denton could be their prime suspect.

Based on a police anti corruption unit AC 12 who investigate and charge police officers who break the law, , led by superintendent hargreaves, and his two lead investigators ds Arnott (later promoted to inspector) DC late Fleming
Later promoted to sergeant then inspector)

The team investigates the OCG (organised criminal gang) that many of the corrupt officers belong to and a person known as "H" who AC 12 believe is
A senior corrupt police officer who is either the leader of OCG or is In league with them

In fact most of the cops under the command of Tony gates work for the OCG throughout the series , though Tony gates is not a member of the OCG
He is being blackmailed by them

This blue ray version has German language on the sleeve but.it does have English audio, but no subtitles

Line of Duty is a ‘not to be missed’ program. I am currently watching Series 3 each week and loving every moment. The script, acting, pace, background music and visuals are superb ~ perhaps the Met Police wouldn’t agree. I had previously watched Episodes 1 and 2 but that was a long time ago so I wanted to see them again. My daughter had the DVD of Episode 1 and it was superb to watch ~ very exciting. However, within my family/friends I couldn’t find anyone who had Series 2. Naturally I went to Amazon. I found the DVD. The order process was quick and simple. Amazon kept me informed of progress. The DVD was delivered on the date the Amazon told me it would be delivered. A gold star service.

I enjoyed series 1 and series 2 is better. The characters have progressed a bit and the role of D.I. Lindsay Denton is superbly played.
I'll not spoil the ending, but the "villain" would certainly not suddenly become stupid enough to be caught so easily, and with the evidence finally available any barely competent counsel would get an acquittal. Perhaps "catching the baddy" was important for a happy ending, but it was not really likely and a bit trite.

Edge-of-the-seat thriller with corruption in the police force, people in positions of responsibility swapping speeding spoints with their spouses (wonder where they got that idea from) and a quite incredible interrogation scene in one episode which keeps the tension going in one tiny room for 17 minutes straight. One of the best crime dramas around.
