A bestselling story about confidence, self-esteem, and a shy little mouse who sets out on a journey to find his roar.
In a dry dusty place where the sand sparkled gold, stood a mighty flat rock, all craggy and old. And under that rock in a tinyful house, lived the littlest, quietest, meekest brown mouse.
Fed up of being ignored by the other animals, Mouse wishes he could roar like Lion. But, as he discovers, even the biggest, bossiest people are scared sometimes ... and even the smallest creatures can have the heart of a lion!
A modern classic, The Lion Inside has sold over 200,000 copies in the UK alone and been translated into over 30 languages worldwide.

He loves books though, we spend a lot of time reading & he enjoys trips to the library. Over time I’ve been looking for books to help him be brave & think more in the now. Some of the books I’ve looked at that are aimed at toddlers with issues like worry or fright but are absolutely ridiculous, with overbearingly depressing titles, written using language that over complicates their problem & could easily baffle the mind of a 3 year old. But they over complicate how to handle things as a parent. The message needs to be positive & fun. At the end of the day, the importance should be that the child enjoys books, books are supposed to be loved & you can’t not enjoy this book. It’s just as lovely as the others from the author & beautifully illustrated but I found it a real giggle & therefore so did my boy. I don’t know why we didn’t buy it sooner. Everyone should own this book, it’s not just for worriers, it’s a brilliant read.
(The worrysaurus was also a huge hit in our house)

I bought my daughter the classics at first, the tiger who came to tea, five minutes peace, peace at last, those types of stories, but they're actually quite boring to both read and listen to. The lion inside is an exciting story with chances for the listener to join in if they want and lovely rhymes that make listening to relaxing.
Just buy it, it's lush. Thank me later.

My son likes it when we do the squeaky little mouse voice and the big roary lion voice and even though the main message goes over his head a bit, I think we will still be reading it to him in a few years when he understands a bit more.
All my favourite childrens books are the ones that have a really heartfelt message and this one delivers that in spades. It's all about being brave and coming to accept yourself as you are. The pictures are really lovely too. Definitely one of my favourite books to read.

Having read many good reviews about the Lion Inside, we decided to give this book a go, and I must say it's been an absolute pleasure to read to our young daughter, & quickly becoming a new favourite.
Beautifully illustrated, with a much higher standard of writing than I've found in many current children's books (which seem to have forced rhymes and can be quite... challenging... to read repeatedly for parents), we would strongly recommend this book for children big and small- and the board book makes a perfect gift too!
Ordered with prime, and delivered very quickly despite current Covid-19 climate- brilliant.
