Ganz einfach. Bei Video on Demant fliegen Serien halt raus. Findet euch bitte damit ab!

Overrated

Its basically East Enders castaway on a Hawaiian beach, with better looking actors. There's a bloody fight scene pretty much every episode and everyone's even more messed up and reactive than they are in real life. There's also some stupid mistakes and oversights; There's a very Indian looking guy who's supposed to be an Iraqi whose accent is thick as a brick but whose English is nevertheless perfect. In the episode I've just watched the beautiful blonde guy is described as naked coming out of the sea but in an atrocious piece of editing you can clearly see his jeans.
That said, most of the acting's excellent and the plot's quite intriguing. It's also got a bit of spiritual depth. I just wish film and TV producers would quit assuming that everyone wants to see lots of melodrama and men running around acting like apes.

“Where are we?” [Charlie, pilot episode part 2]
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 April 2019Verified Purchase
This box set covers the first series of the 2004-2010 TV series in which 48 passengers find themselves stranded on a mysterious Island after surviving a plane crash. Starting off well, the pilot episode is chaotic, noisy and disjointed as the passengers try to figure out the basics. The entire series basically consists of us getting to ‘know’ about 14 characters –although only half a dozen are central. There are a few bizarre elements thrown into the mix, but it’s the character development which holds the attention here as their backgrounds are teased out with each episode revealing new ‘facts’.
The 25 episodes are held on 7 discs which are in individual slimline cases within a stiff card outer carton. The first six hold 4 episodes each and the seventh holds the last episode and extras. The discs open to a menu offering English or most Baltic/Scandinavian languages, then goes to main menu offering play all, set-up and some extras. Rated as a 12/15 these discs do contain some graphic injuries, sexual references and drug usage.
A survival guide this certainly isn’t, but go along with it and treat it as jigsaw type puzzle drama and you won’t be disappointed. Because of the storyline, this has stood the test of time and could easily have been made yesterday. There are many flaws for the critical -The occasional fence line or telephone pole can be see in distant shots and some of the rough paths look more like nature trails, and it does lose pace in the second half as a 'storyline' tries to develop, but otherwise this is riveting entertainment and therefore a recommended *****.

Ohne LOST hat man umsonst gelebt...

Trotz GAME OF THRONES, THE WALKING DEAD und BOARDWALK EMPIRE bleibt LOST die beste Fernsehserie aller Zeiten.

10 years on and still fantastic

It's hard to believe that Lost will be 10 years old this year, and in the last decade I have yet to see anything on TV that rivals the brilliance of this opening season to the successful and highly acclaimed saga.
The plot focuses on the survivors of a plane crash who find themselves trapped on a mysterious island, and we get to see Lost's trademark flashbacks to the lives of the main characters and how they came to be on the doomed flight. There are plenty of twists and turns, and the gripping drama is bound to keep you on the edge of your seat.
The acting is superb and the cinematography is astounding at times. The casting is spot on and despite the fantasy of the situation, the characters are believable and varied. The special effects and sounds are also brilliant. and it is clear that Lost is truly a big budget and high quality US show.
There are plenty of interesting special features on the DVD to keep you entertained even after watching the 25 episodes.
Highly recommended and well worth sinking your time into.
