How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

The book communicated its message well and it's message is strong, encouraging, inspiring, and motivating. Nothing complicated, just a good message with relevant stories that will help you reflect on your life and ask for more.

5.0 out of 5 stars The only motivational book you need

There are so many motivational and self help books out there but very few are written from real life experiences. Most are just fluff with very little grit. I have been a follower of Ant ever since the first series of SAS and have been to his live shows. He is authentic in his delivery and writing because he really has been there and done it. Personally I would rather follow the advice of someone who can evidence his own life experiences than someone who studied Psychology 101 and thinks they know the human psyche and limits.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best self-help book out there!

Ant does not mince his words. He offers sound, and above all, believable advice. You get the impression from 99% of authors of this genre that they are just trying to fill the pages. Mr Middleton gets straight to the point and provides feasible ways of improving your mental fitness. Thanks, Ant.

2.0 out of 5 stars Uninspiring

Nothing new here, he is just coming from a military angle, mostly self-congratulatory talk and his usual foul mouthed language. Do these guys really speak and even write like that in their private life too? Not cool! I thought it's just to show off on tv. Ah well. On the plus side he is honest and not afraid to point out his own shortcomings which makes him appear more human despite his huge ego and alpha male affectation. I'm sure he is a nice guy but, from what I have read, his wife deserves a medal. Anyway, all in all a disappointing read. Sadly I didn't find this book inspiring.

2.0 out of 5 stars I must be missing something

I had great hopes for this book and from the reviews most people seem to think it is amazing. I started off in the same way finding it quite inspiring until I didn't. I think for me it started to turn sour around the chapter on how to parent and went down hill from there. I gave up about 3/4 through as the self sanctimonious and pretty bitter tone was making me cross.

1.0 out of 5 stars Underwhelmed would be an understatement

I have read all of Ant's books and usually love them. However, this one was just a repeat of the previous ones but in a more structured form.

If you're into self development you'll know everything here already

Totally underwhelmed and had to force myself to finish it out of stubbornness (and hope it got better)

Bought this out of nowhere was just looking for some good self help books and I couldn't be more pleased , ant really uses his real life experiences to show you the ups and downs of life and how things can affect you mentally and physically but he also shows you how you can over come and deal with some of these thoughts and feelings that come with real life issues and struggles, not a big reader but couldn't put this down and already bought another one of his books to continue my reading ... Will definitely be going back and fourth into some of these chapters when I am feeling a certain way.

I really, really enjoyed this book. 300 pages, but because it was page-turning, I didn’t see it as it would belong. Read this twice a lot I took in as being a man. Always room to be a better man in life and also love yourself and don’t care, do what makes you happy. I highly recommend giving this a read. #Thingsofthatnature
