To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
After reading many review I was hesitant of purchasing this DVD but decided to would give it a try. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprise, the depth of the characters was very interesting and kept me intrigued throughout. It was like many of the reviews before me, set very much like a play which I didn't mind maybe knowing before hand helped though. I would diffidently tell people to give it a try, its not a movie I would watch over and over again but very much glad I watched it.
Miss Julie is surprising. The DVD is great help for anybody studying Miss Julie's play for AS Level as it's difficult to see this play live. Excellent depiction of the way the power passes from person to person and excellent imagery.
An interesting atmospheric production of great intensity brought to life with clarity from a distinguished director and cast. The set is convincing and the cinephotography unobtrusive. No silly and pretencious tricks and angles. A special word too for the way the setting and characters are lit.
Its just another identikit film. All those unpleasant close ups and that horrible, irritating whispering style of acting. Third-rate film by third-rate directors and writers. It must be British to be so dull and ordinary. I went straight back to the original play. At least that was deep and interesting.
