Sweet toy, sort of loud heartbeat

Sweet, sweet stuffed dog! The disk with the heartbeat wasn't in with the dog when I received it but they sent it out to me right away. I wrapped a shirt I had worn around it so it would have my scent. While I didn't force it on my little dog, I moved it around and put it nearby where ever my dog was. I was hoping it would relieve my dog's recent separation anxiety since our larger dog passed away early July, but that isn't working - my little dog is 10 and isn't 'buying" it as a companion as it doesn't have a doggie smell, but I do think it would work for puppies, etc. I did think of putting the collar of the dog who passed away onto the stuffed dog, but I felt it would confuse our little one. The heartbeat is louder than I'd like and it vibrates, which I can actually feel through the cushions of our couch if I set it on the couch near our dog, and I don't like that. I do think it's worth people trying it and I will keep it just in case my little dog decides to snuggle up to it.

The heartbeat mechanism wasn't carefully thought through. It took my 9 week old puppy less than one minute to break the switch off. A bigger fear is that in a couple of more weeks, he could easily get into the mechanism and possibly est the batteries or parts of them. I bought a really nice stuffed animal from Walmart for $10. It was twice the size of this one. I cut out the plastic eyes and with about 20 minutes of effort, sewed the holes. He loves this one. Save your money and perhaps your dogs life, buy a product see ith your puppy's safety in mind!

Poor quality and smaller than identical product received 6 months ago!

I ordered this same product on 2/12/2020 and was very happy with the product. I ordered a second one for my dog two weeks ago (order listed above) and for the same price, we were shocked to receive a much smaller item and much lower quality. Instead of a zip closure for the heartbeat device, it is closed with velcro, which my dog proceeded to easily take apart and remove the plastic heartbeat device. Needless to say, I now cannot use the toy for the purpose it was purchased.
What happened to the quality of this product between February and September? Since my small (8lb) dog has already chewed through the velcro of this product, it is not eligible to return but can also no longer be used for the purpose for which it was purchased.

I’m so unhappy about this .... ordered this for my new puppy arriving this weekend) and the “heart” wouldn’t work. I sent the first one back.
Amazon sent out a replacement immediately and just opened this up to yet ANOTHER not working “heart”.
Now I have nothing for my new puppy to sleep with! NOT HAPPY... SO DISAPPOINTED in this product!!! I want to give no stars :(

I purchased this toy for my sister who got a new puppy. The breed of dog she got is especially social and can have a hard time being separated from siblings/mother. She was so happy to get this as a gift and had never heard of it before! The toy is very soft and SO cute! There is a plastic piece in the zipper pocket that makes the heartbeat. It requires 3 batteries that are not included with the purchase. You have to turn the heartbeat device on and off by removing it from the pocket. We kind of wished there was a way to do it without having to remove it every time, but it isn't hard to do or anything. Overall, this is so cute and a great gift idea for baby puppies needing love! :)

Works great to calm a new puppy

We bought this heart beat dog to accompany our puppy (Mini Labradoodle) on a flight from Pennsylvania to California. It was a long 6 hour flight home (PA to CA) and our puppy was brand new. We weren't really sure what to expect. We had her in a pet carrier under the seat in front of us. About 4 or 5 hours into the trip she started to get a little bit restless. We turned on the heart beat dog and it really soothed her for the rest of the flight. To this day (12 weeks later), she sleeps with her heart beat puppy. Only, she's figured out how to get the heart battery pack out of the insides (opens the Velcro), so we just leave the vibrating part out. She uses the dog as a pillow. Well worth the money. (Sorry I don't have a pic of the heart beat puppy on hand... but here is the pooch the heart beat puppy calmed.)

Don't waste your money.

This item is vacuum sealed to the point where it loses its fluffiness. The one I received had the same side Velcro on the tummy the fuzzy side of the velcro so the stomach wouldn't close to hold in the heartbeat. It does not come with the heat pack I guess I assumed it did since it was very similar to a Snuggle puppy I don't recall if it said it did or not. It's also much smaller than a Snuggle puppy. The only positive I can say is the face is cute and it is somewhat soft it's not the softest item I've ever felt. If you want a good heartbeat a good warm inside for the puppy I would recommend spending the extra money and getting a Snuggle Puppy hands down.

Recently adopted an 18wk old, 18 pound, lab rescue pup.
Gave her this as a first toy / comforter.
Within an hour of playing with it, she had torn off the ear and the tail and swallowed them.
She vomited up the ear.
After $1500 in vet bills from 'ingestion' and overnight monitoring, we're now waiting to see if she needs surgery to remove the tail from her intestines, which may run another few thousand $.
This is not made well enough to stand up to a dog's chewing or playing.

Mackie Mack is sending this POS back.
Didn’t work right if the box. Something so simple yet the poor manufacturing couldn’t use enough quality for an on/off button to work. The Velcro closure stitching is sloppy as is the entire dog.

I’m actually glad it arrived a POS because my first thought was how many dangerous chemicals is this thing contaminated with. Considering where it was made I would not recommend anything that is made to come in contact with any part other than collecting waste.

Morgan is a special needs hound that suffers from extreme anxiety. We have had her “baby” for a week now and it has really helped. We have seen her tail wag once, she gave kisses for the first time, & today she played a little with the other two dogs.
Now a review...it’s a good value for the money. Not a lot of stuffing. I don’t have confidence in its durability, but she is very gentle with it. The “heart” is larger and louder than the more expensive type models. But as mentioned before it has proven very helpful. I would buy again if needed.
