Excellent well worth it!

Great fun! We got some really nice ones and a couple of rocks with only a small amount of crystal or non at all (not pictured). We got a giant one which I though would be a dud but it's one of the best! All only white crystals but when you read the info book that comes with it that is to be expected.I bought this as a school holiday activity as we had been looking at geodes and made some at home using egg shells Alum and laster and wanted to show what the real thing was like. Follow the instructions to make sure you get a nice cross section and not a just a bunch of pieces. Happy with my purchase and with how quickly it arrived.
Note the cardboard box is not the actual product , I've seen reviews which complained about the plain cardboard packaging, open the plain cardboard and the product is in a box as displayed.

Does not look anything like packaging! Extremely difficult to open, both adults tried and it took so many blows, sometimes they never opened because there was no opening on the inside just a ball of concrete and there is no way a kid could do it. Colours are crap, one purple one in the whole batch, the rest are white.

My son (11) had a great time smashing these geodes. We had to smash the heck out of them. We got several beautiful sparkly hollow ones and a few just pretty rocks. In terms of colour yes it would have been nice to get something other than white but you can’t see inside a rock so … 🤷‍♀️

Great activity! I bought this for my nephew’s 7th birthday. He loves crystals and I liked that this included an activity as well as the crystals themselves. Grandpa set up the kids (7 & 8) each with Their own hammer and goggles and they had such fun smashing them open! As an activity this gets 10/10. Glad I went for the 10 geodes, that gave them a good chance to keep busy for a while.
I’d say the only downside was that all the crystals were the same colour - white - not like on the box where all the beautiful colours were shown. So that was a bit disappointing but I guess you can’t tell what’s inside by looking at the rock. All the same, a fun activity for the kids and I’d recommend this.

I am very disappointed with these. I bought them as a Christmas present for my granddaughter. She was really excited when we opened the first one and found the crystal inside. Since then we have opened one every few days as a treat. However her excitement soon disappeared. Two of the geodes didn't contain any crystal at all and the others were all the same white colour, not different colours at all. In fact not one of them looked anywhere near as good as the illustrations on the box, they did not have the hollow inside so the crystals do not show up nearly as well. Both my granddaughter have ended up really disappointed in them and whilst I didn't expect them to be exactly the same as the illustration - I know they are natural products - I feel they don't even come near and I believe I have been misled and let down. I certainly would not recommend them to anyone else.

Very disappointed with this product. The advertisement provides pictures of geodes of different colours, however they were are white and some had no centre, looking simply like sparkly stones. As these were bought for a 10 year olds birthday, he was very excited to crack each one open to be disappointed as they all appeared to be the same each time. Out of the whole box, he probably got 1 or 2 half decent geodes. Unfortunately even these do not look like the ones advertised. A very exciting gift but very disappointing when used. It’s heartbreaking when you see your child excited to then be let down as each one is cracked open.

Hmm well it arrived really quickly which we was happy about - then we broke them open some we so small it was just rock and others were all the same colour my son is so interested in rocks and discovering fossils and rocks so he was extremely disappointed with the ones he got,I have replied to several of the emails that they sent me but no response .... Gutted to say the least disappointed with his birthday present

Huge disappointment and waste of money

Huge disappointment - the children were very excited to get this but were sadly let down. After much effort at following the “chisel scoring” recommended method we gave up to use brute force. The results explained the need, the geodes were mostly solid stone. Added disappointment that there was no verity of colour and the crystals (where they existed) were tiny. In include a photo of the opened geodes with the box in the background to show the difference between the “sale” photos and reality.

I am very disappointed with this product. The packaging is very misleading. There is a large picture of a hammer on the photo suggesting a hammer is included "break open 10 geodes" you say. I can move past the hammer, I should have read the text more carefully, the picture is misleading nevertheless. 7 of the geodes are the same. Not one of the geodes is colourful. On the box, it suggests you will receive a selection of colourful geodes. The leaflet inside goes into description about a variety of crystals but we were not blessed with receiving any of them. You must know what you are putting into the boxes. It cannot simply be random. If you are selecting 10 geodes from your stock, if your stock is 70% of the same geode, then you must know (and should tell customers and not mislead them with the packaging), that the child will receive the majority of that one geode. Perhaps you should run a competition like Wonka's Golden Ticket - find a colourful geode and all your dreams will come true.
