My son (11) had a great time smashing these geodes. We had to smash the heck out of them. We got several beautiful sparkly hollow ones and a few just pretty rocks. In terms of colour yes it would have been nice to get something other than white but you can’t see inside a rock so … 🤷‍♀️
My son loves them.

Does not look anything like packaging! Extremely difficult to open, both adults tried and it took so many blows, sometimes they never opened because there was no opening on the inside just a ball of concrete and there is no way a kid could do it. Colours are crap, one purple one in the whole batch, the rest are white.

One would think that buying a product with a name brand, you would at the very least have a couple that were decent. NO unfortunately there were two in the package that were just ROCKS!!! There were no crystals, no cavern, nothing. They were just rocks. Then, the rest of them were man made. OK! I get saving a little money and putting in a couple of the man made ones. They are pretty. However, each one of these man made geodes were exactly the same. They were all thin, nothing extravagant inside, and you could open them with your bare hands. DO NOT waste your money on these. There are other NON-name brand that offer real geodes for a whole lot less money. AND YOU DON"T GET ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!! SO MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty disappointing. Out of 10 geodes ten actually had crystals all of which were white. Well, I guess one was grayish. Those four were pretty but since the rest were solid rock I don’t think the payoff was worth it. The kids were all disappointed. Also they weren’t able to open the geodes on their own which is likely due to the fact that they were solid stone. My husband had to come open them with a hammer. I wish I’d known we needed a chisel. Would not recommend.

This is cool in theory, but you better be ready. Make sure you got some ice packs for your shoulder and some realistic expectations. Got this for my 6yo. No way a kid can do this alone. I got through 3 rocks and had to take a break and let my husband do the rest later. You need specific tools to do this appropriately, a household hammer is not it. Cool once we cracked open a few, but I lost a screwdriver in the process.

The booklet is a wonderful resource,but, the geodes themselves left much to be desired. 3 of the 10 were solid with no crystal at all (see photos) and the rest were less than 2” so the pieces were about quarter sized. Not exactly what I would call premium…I’ve seen bigger and cheaper in gift shops. There was no variety - just all clear quartz.

I only gave this one star because I had to give it something to leave a review.

Out of 10 rocks, only one was salvaged, 3 wouldn’t open at all, and the rest were either empty or fell into pieces when we finally DID get them open. Don’t bother with the “safety sock” method for smaller children, all you’ll do is rip open socks, and still have nothing to show for it. I have a 7yr old who’s not happy about using his birthday money on this mess.

My 11 year old daughter was so excited to crack open these rocks. We opened the first 3, 1 didn't have anything in it and the other 2 were white inside :( they were very hard to crack, me has her dad had to do it and she could even enjoy the fun of opening them. We opened the rest of them and they were all white inside. My daughter was very disappointed.

Very disappointed in this set. Got it for my 9 year old for Christmas and out of 10 only two were hollow with crystals. One was an agate and the rest just solid quartzite. Would not recommend. Would not buy again. Go find an actual geode hunter to purchase from on Etsy, etc.

Loved the idea BUT the geodes were mostly very small. There were (4) 2 1/2 “ to 3” size rocks the rest are very small. Hard to see the inside of rocks. Love these type of learning items. Is really important for the young curious minds great idea just needed more larger ones

Very unhappy with this purchase. Out of the 10 ‘rocks’ only 4 were actual geodes, the rest were solid rocks and of the 4 geodes only 3 were worth keeping. The other one was very chalky with no sparkle at all. My granddaughters were also disappointed with the kit. I know that you can’t expect 10 beautiful and perfect geodes but I don’t think that 3 out of 10 was a good an acceptable amount
