Excellent well worth it!

Great fun! We got some really nice ones and a couple of rocks with only a small amount of crystal or non at all (not pictured). We got a giant one which I though would be a dud but it's one of the best! All only white crystals but when you read the info book that comes with it that is to be expected.I bought this as a school holiday activity as we had been looking at geodes and made some at home using egg shells Alum and laster and wanted to show what the real thing was like. Follow the instructions to make sure you get a nice cross section and not a just a bunch of pieces. Happy with my purchase and with how quickly it arrived.
Note the cardboard box is not the actual product , I've seen reviews which complained about the plain cardboard packaging, open the plain cardboard and the product is in a box as displayed.

Does not look anything like packaging! Extremely difficult to open, both adults tried and it took so many blows, sometimes they never opened because there was no opening on the inside just a ball of concrete and there is no way a kid could do it. Colours are crap, one purple one in the whole batch, the rest are white.

Visually disappointing, massive let down, very dull 2 calcite, 2 very, very small quartz (clear) and the rest where rocks with maybe 5% crystal (clear), and none have very much colour at all! It made me reconsider buying the other national geographic packs. Not very easy to open the solid rocks, I personally used a grinder and went through 2 tile cutting blades to cut open most of what you can see, maybe the carbide edged steel blades would cut through the rocks better, you will need to use a dust mask when cutting and cut outside or use ducted vacuum as this method creates rock dust. Great gift for someone who loves rocks, geodes, gems or has an interest in geology.

Yep, a total scam. After scoring them with an angle grinder first, brute force with a hammer didn’t work at all, only 1 had a cavity with a 5mm crystal inside. The rest just sparkley rock. Nothing like the picture. Ripped off and kids very disappointed.

I got 2 package of 10 Geodes, From total 20, only 7 were geodes and 13 of them rough rocks. From those 7, only 2 were geodes that we can call them ""Premium"" ,the rest were only white below grade geodes.
None of them even close to the pictures on the box or in the booklet provided.
I would say this is China National Geographic Grade 0 not US.

Un peu déçu car sur les 4 géodes, l'une d'elles était "pleine" et n'avait pas de cristaux à l'intérieur (ou pas très visibles dans tous les cas). Du coup, je n'ai pas fait exprès de commencé par celle-ci mais elle était très difficile à casser puisqu'elle n'était pas creuse (tout ça pour ça...). Pour les autres, ça reste difficile aussi, ma fille n'y arrivait pas et pour ma part je n'ai pas réussi à les couper proprement en 2 (beaucoup de petits morceaux).

Misleading & disappointing
3 out of 10 Geodes didn’t have any crystal & the rest only had white crystals as seen in picture. National Geographic box shows different colours geodes and so that was unfortunate for my boy was so excited until we realized at last all are the same. Would not have paid for 10 if I had known.

Out of the 10 rocks inside the package only 3 of them broke open with geods inside, the rest of them were just straight rocks, my daughter tried and tried to break them with no luck, i then had to hit them hard as i possibly could to break them and inside was just solid rock...........

Out of 10, two had nothing in them. The rest were all quartz and calcite. No colorful ones, or even a large variety. We got 2 kinds. The included pamphlet shows you all the ones you didn't get. I made my boys read it first, so their hopes were high and were ultimately disappointed.
