Great kit

My son (11) had a great time smashing these geodes. We had to smash the heck out of them. We got several beautiful sparkly hollow ones and a few just pretty rocks. In terms of colour yes it would have been nice to get something other than white but you can’t see inside a rock so … 🤷‍♀️
My son loves them.

Does not look anything like packaging! Extremely difficult to open, both adults tried and it took so many blows, sometimes they never opened because there was no opening on the inside just a ball of concrete and there is no way a kid could do it. Colours are crap, one purple one in the whole batch, the rest are white.

I got 2 package of 10 Geodes, From total 20, only 7 were geodes and 13 of them rough rocks. From those 7, only 2 were geodes that we can call them ""Premium"" ,the rest were only white below grade geodes.
None of them even close to the pictures on the box or in the booklet provided.
I would say this is China National Geographic Grade 0 not US.

Misleading & disappointing
3 out of 10 Geodes didn’t have any crystal & the rest only had white crystals as seen in picture. National Geographic box shows different colours geodes and so that was unfortunate for my boy was so excited until we realized at last all are the same. Would not have paid for 10 if I had known.

Un peu déçu car sur les 4 géodes, l'une d'elles était "pleine" et n'avait pas de cristaux à l'intérieur (ou pas très visibles dans tous les cas). Du coup, je n'ai pas fait exprès de commencé par celle-ci mais elle était très difficile à casser puisqu'elle n'était pas creuse (tout ça pour ça...). Pour les autres, ça reste difficile aussi, ma fille n'y arrivait pas et pour ma part je n'ai pas réussi à les couper proprement en 2 (beaucoup de petits morceaux).

Out of 10, two had nothing in them. The rest were all quartz and calcite. No colorful ones, or even a large variety. We got 2 kinds. The included pamphlet shows you all the ones you didn't get. I made my boys read it first, so their hopes were high and were ultimately disappointed.

Out of the 10 rocks inside the package only 3 of them broke open with geods inside, the rest of them were just straight rocks, my daughter tried and tried to break them with no luck, i then had to hit them hard as i possibly could to break them and inside was just solid rock...........

All over the geodes were extremely small. The ones that we managed to open a small amount of clear quartz. The rest couldn't be open. I'm assuming they are solid rock

If you have a child that is into science and searching for "pretty rocks", this is a cool gift to give. However, after opening it you'll find that this isn't a child-friendly operation any longer.

You will need (at minimum) a hammer and a punch (or you can put the geode in an old sock and bash it on the ground).... You'll make an absolute mess with them.... these geodes don't open easily or cleanly. They will shatter into thousands of pieces and you will have a broken and mutilated looking geode after all is said and done.

If you want to make the most of this kit, you will need to get a diamond saw blade and carefully cut them open.

In our kit we received a selection of geodes. One or two that were small but decent sized. The rest got much smaller. For the cost, I have to admit, I was expecting a little bit more. However, after receiving the kit and feeling the weight of it, I understand why they can't provide larger geodes. This kit is heavy.

Again, this is an interesting gift for kids. Don't expect too much. It is work to open the geodes (if you want them to look nice) and they are somewhat small in size. However, economically, from a business stand-point.... this is a good value for what they are delivering to you. Weight equals money these days when it comes to shipping.....
