Great fun! We got some really nice ones and a couple of rocks with only a small amount of crystal or non at all (not pictured). We got a giant one which I though would be a dud but it's one of the best! All only white crystals but when you read the info book that comes with it that is to be expected.I bought this as a school holiday activity as we had been looking at geodes and made some at home using egg shells Alum and laster and wanted to show what the real thing was like. Follow the instructions to make sure you get a nice cross section and not a just a bunch of pieces. Happy with my purchase and with how quickly it arrived.
Note the cardboard box is not the actual product , I've seen reviews which complained about the plain cardboard packaging, open the plain cardboard and the product is in a box as displayed.

Does not look anything like packaging! Extremely difficult to open, both adults tried and it took so many blows, sometimes they never opened because there was no opening on the inside just a ball of concrete and there is no way a kid could do it. Colours are crap, one purple one in the whole batch, the rest are white.

My daughter really loved the geodes, but as others have said, they do require quite a bit of parental intervention! We had one bluish one as the box front cover, all the others were of the beige exterior/clear crystal interior type. We'd hoped for a bit more variety, hence 4 not 5 stars.

The only downfall is most of them are the same clear geode. I was hoping of a mixture like in the picture. And for the money spent I would expect that. Was a goog time passer and comes with an interesting mini fact book. My son enjoyed having that to read to go with it

I bought this for my sons school project he’s decided to do from home, when you open the box you are presented with 4 rocks 3 of them were nice and round the 4th was quite small and flat.

It didn’t disappoint my son broke them open to find beautiful crystals in each one , it comes with a booklet explaining all about Geodes.

Very interesting project and beautiful inside, however, quite tricky to break the Geodes even for an adult, so assistance and supervision is definitely required. We received 4 good sized Geodes, each different on the inside.

I bought this for my 6 year old. It was easy to break open the smaller ones but the large ones are very hard. We haven’t broken one open yet. We have tried force. Chisel and the rock hammer. Still no luck yet. Maybe we just need some brute force. Anyway wearing safety goggles is a must as shards go flying. Definitely need adult supervision.
