Great kit

My son (11) had a great time smashing these geodes. We had to smash the heck out of them. We got several beautiful sparkly hollow ones and a few just pretty rocks. In terms of colour yes it would have been nice to get something other than white but you can’t see inside a rock so … 🤷‍♀️
My son loves them.

Worthless rocks. No Crystals

Below disappointments, first rocks were much smaller than anticipated, then they were almost impossible to break no way kids can break them. I ( a big body builder)
Struggled to break them. Kids lost interest after 3 minutes, and only one rock has traces of crystals( see photo) so yeah save your money and buy kids candy will make them happier. You would literally buy some worthless rocks packaged nicely here.😒😏

My 8 year old newphew loves these geodes. I think he was a little bemused at Christmas and wasn't sure what to expect but once his Dad got the hammer out and they started to have a go at cracking them open he really loved it. There is much excitement waiting to see which of the perfectly adjusted hammer hits would crack it open to reveal the treasure. So far they have opened 5 and they've all be quartz (is that right? the clear crystals) and the rest are proving to be a bit more difficult to get into. This however is not a bad thing, it adds to the excitement.
There is a level of skill needed to ensure you use the right strength to get them open but with adult supervision it's great. The goggles were strong and protective. Would definitely recommend if your little person has a fascination with rocks and crystals!!

I bought this for my 8 year old son for Christmas and he loved opening them. A few were extremely hard to open, but we got there in the end! These definitely need an adults help to score them and crack open. So, in that sense, it was a bit of a bummer for my son since he couldn't break them open on his own. I think we ended up with one solid rock, but the rest opened. My son was really hoping for a purple rock, but he only ended up with white. Overall, for being rocks, they're pricey, but I did find Amazon to be the cheapest.

The Geodes arrived on time and were amazing..... I got 2 quite large Geodes and the rest were smaller but everyone was hollow, as in some cases when u smash one open they can often be solid, which is nice but not as cool as a hole Geode. Very good but for the price and I would buy again.

Got my package today, opened it immediately.

From the weight, 4 of them are hollow inside (#1-4 in picture), the rest probably either solid or small hollow space. Another picture shows the one (#1) was being hammered open, sadly to few pieces. We didn't open them all, try to find a better way to open the hollow ones than just hammer them.

I strongly feel this geode set is probably better for 10 year old and above, my 15 year old had hard time to crack open a small solid one.

Over all, we felt we just had a little adventure exploring rocks, it's worth.

Received two large rocks and the rest were about the size of a nectarine. My son had a blast smashing these rocks! After smashing: Mostly received white, 1 agate type, 1 decomposed stone, 1 light blue, and 1 that will not crack no matter how hard we try .

My 6 yr old boy loved this little project. He broke a few open with hammer and chisel then I used my tile saw and clean cut a couple. One was purple and very nice, a few were duds, just solid no crystals, the rest was clear/white. would have been nice to have more colour. Ordered a second set for Christmas, we'll see how that one is.

This kit was a huge hit, no pun intended. My four year old nephew enjoyed breaking them open, with lots of supervision, and exploring the gems inside. We got a few rather large rocks, and the rest were a decent size. I would highly recommend.

We got these for our daughter's 10th bday (10 geodes for 10 years old). She absolutely loves them. We used wood chisels & hammer, because that's what we had already. We scored them, as directed. Our daughter broke open the first one & it had some very light pink and lavender in it, we're assuming amethyst, but whatever it is is really pretty. It took her about 15 minutes to get that one open, after we scored it on both sides. After that & trying several others for a few minutes, she let the rest of us open them, stating that the most fun part was getting to see them first & pick them up when they finally break. One opened on my husband's 3rd try. Some took many tries--15+ minutes. Too hard for 6 year old brother to be able to open the one his sister gave him, but he enjoyed trying for over half an hour. So, I think these would be great for any age, even if the parents are the ones opening them. Our daughter wanted to put all of them in their own ziploc bag & label them with who all worked on opening each one. She thought that was very fun, too. Our 6 year old said many times now that he wants a box of them for his birthday, too. We will purchase the proper chisels for the next batch, bc we pretty much ruined the wood chisels with this and the others would probably work better anyway. We have one left to open. All looked nice, some were more beautiful than others, but again, we were very pleased with all of them.

This was so fun with my kiddos!!! They absolutely loved breaking these open and discovering the wonders within! My son for his 9th birthday saw the Walmart version and I looked at reviews and found these instead. There was only 1 that didn’t split into crystal splendor but it did have druzy on the outside and was smaller than the rest so I didn’t think it would. I will be buying these for my soon to be 8yr olds birthday because he had so much fun!! It’s not just a little tap and they’re split so I suggest to be prepared for a couple of hours and to put a little force into it. You can also hold a flashlight under SOME and see the light through the stone. Beautiful, educational and so much fun!!
