Another enjoyable hedgehog story!

“New Arrivals” is another delightful read in Jessica Redland’s wonderful “Hedgehog Hollow” series and I’m very glad that there appears to be at least one more in the making, going by the ending to this book!
This one was released at almost the perfect time too - January, 2021 - right when a good dose of comfort was desperately. For me, it was just the antidote to listening to haranguing American politicians!
Sweet, without being syrupy, realistic problems, with only some being solved, (making it that more realistic), interesting characters and both well written and well edited.
Now, if Jessica could just write as fast as I read......🤔

Even though it was book two in a series, I managed to keep track of who was who. Would have filled in the gaps if I had read first book. The story kept me interested all the way through. A little predictable but a pleasant story with unrealistic happy endings for all concerned. I liked the unusual theme of Hedgehog rescue.

I just love the Hedgehog Hollow series. It would seem a simple enough story if trying to explain it to someone, but it is so much more than that & keeps me continually enraptured. I never want this series to end. What a great writer Jessica Redland is.

Well, Jessica has done it again! She always creates a story that draws you in, pulling at your heartstrings at times; and making you desperate to get through chapter after chapter, to see what happens next.
This book features mainly on the relationship between Sammie and Josh, and of course the hedgehogs. There is a lot going on at Hedgehog Hollow and trying to keep up with that and teaching aswell, Sammie seems to be struggling healthwise. Fortunately there is help at hand with family and some new and old friends helping out at the hedgehog sanctuary.
We meet up with most of the characters from book 1 and learn a lot more about their lives. We find out a lot more about family relationships but not everything yet.

Roll on book 3, when more will be revealed I am sure. Jessica always has me wanting more and more.

Another Gorgeous Uplifting Visit to Hedgehog Hollow

This is the second book in the Hedgehog Hollow series. After reading Finding Love at Hedgehog Hollow, I knew it was my new favourite of Jessica Redland's books. As much as I love Whitsborough Bay, I warmed to this new setting immediately. I loved the Yorkshire Wolds location, I loved Hedgehog Hollow itself, and I loved the idea of a sanctuary for those injured, sick or abandoned hedgehogs.

I was so pleased when Jessica announced a sequel to that first book, and having finally had the chance to read New Arrivals, I can say it didn't disappoint in any way. It was lovely to see Sam and Josh established as a couple, and find out how their lives were moving on together after the traumatic time they'd had in the first book. They have such a wonderful relationship, full of love and trust, and it's a joy to read about them and be back in their company.

Hedgehog Hollow is as beautiful as ever, and I longed to be able to visit it for myself and sit on that bench overlooking Thomas's wildflower meadow. With lots of cute little hedgehog arrivals at the farm, there's a lot to keep Sam and Josh busy - and that's before they even start on the humans in their lives!

This sequel delves more into Josh's past. We got to know a little about his back story in the first book, but this time, Josh reveals the depths of what he went through with his father, and why he's vowed never to speak to him again. It's easy to see why he would walk away from him, after the terrible experience he had, but things are never that black and white, and we learn, as does Josh himself, the other side of the story. People, generally, are neither all good or all bad, and the ties that bind us to our families are strong, however much they may hurt us. For Josh, the pain he suffered, because of the actions of his father, is not easily forgotten, but when something is revealed, it changes everything, and Josh has some big decisions to make.

Sam also has a decision to make, as caring for the hedgehogs is proving more time consuming and exhausting than she expected. And not everyone wants her to succeed...

But Hedgehog Hollow is the sort of place that brings out the best in most people, and a helping hand is never far away. Family, friends, volunteers - soon the farm is overflowing with people keen to save the hedgehogs, and share in the magic of Hedgehog Hollow.

I loved this heart warming book, with a cast of interesting characters, human and hedgehog. Told with the author's characteristic warmth, the reader can't help but be drawn into the world of this gorgeous little haven in the Yorkshire Wolds. I really took to new arrival Fizz, who I think has a great story of her own to tell, and it was great to see Sam and Josh's relationship developing and deepening, despite the problems they each face. They work as a team, and it's brilliant to see that.

I'm really looking forward to the next in the series, Family Secrets at Hedgehog Hollow.

I stumbled upon Jessica Redland's Finding love in Hedgehog Hollow last year and to say I just fell in love with the Book, Place, Characters and story line is an understatement. I was excited to see she had a second book coming to the series. I ordered the book straight away and was delight on release day to see it in my kindle. Been honest I was a bit reluctant to start it as I knew once I did that was it. The house and kids would fall down around me and id wouldn't be able to put it down. True to my taught that's what did happen.
Samantha and Josh's story line is amazing love story with true felt emotions and family problems. How Love concurs all and comes out on top. Its an amazing story with a few twist and turns on the road for both, thinking you know what's going to happen but as you read on the story takes a different road to your own taught.
Most of all I cant believe the last line of the book. To be left with such a cliff hanger I cannot wait for May to see what happens next.
Since last year I have read all of Jessica's book's A New Fan. She's an amazing writer I have loved all her books and would definitely recommend they are ALL worth the read.

Delightful book full of love, kindness and some deep family issues

I absolutely adored the first book in the Hedgehog series and was so eager to read this follow up to that book. The usual characters were still there - Samantha and Josh who are running the Hedgehog rescue centre in between their day jobs, i.e. Samantha as a teacher and Josh who is a vet. Various family members were there with numerous issues including betrayal, nastiness and estranged family members and friends. This second book was equally as endearing and riveting as the first. The gorgeous hedgehogs with their quirky names and lovely little personalities brought warmth and humour to the pages. Samantha and Josh are lovely characters each one exuding kindness, love and empathy toward their fellow humans and animal friends. This is a gentle book and although there is romance it's always kept tender and sweet and I like that it's not centred on bedroom scenes and sex. So many books do that and it's refreshing to have those things left to the imagination and to be able to enjoy what is a terrific story. Theirs is a family filled with secrets, betrayals, fall outs and numerous problems and mysteries to resolve. I can't praise this book enough - and indeed the series so far - and I can't wait to get onto the third book that I have already purchased to see what happens next at Hedgehog Hollow. This book ended on a bit of a cliff-hanger to whet the appetite. Jessica's books just get better and better. I'm so glad I found her and her wonderful stores. I love each and every one.

With any Jessica Redland book you are guaranteed lovely, well written chsracters, deepening relationships (friendship and/or love) and lots of kindness woven throughout the book. The perfect sequel to Finding Love at Hedgehog Hollow, this book is written from two perspectives, those of main characters Samantha and Josh and it is interesting to hear their different voices throughout. Of course it ends with a HEA, but there is also a wonderful twist/cliffhanger at the end which nicely sets us up for HH3. Can't wait!

This is the second book in the hedgehog hollows series (really need to read them in order) and is just as amazing to read as the first. Beautifully written with such loveable and relatable characters. The main character Samatha is constantly growing and very slightly gaining confidence throughout the book with the help of a increasing group of people that love and adore her. A absolutely wonderful escapism book which allows you to leave life and the front cover and become totally immersed in a wonderful tranquil place, that although not without real life worries and woes leaves you with that contented feeling of a perfectly well written book. The book is written in both Samantha’s and Josh’s perspective but flows so well that you don’t even seem to notice the character narrative switches. Can’t recommend enough. I can’t wait for the third in the series and have just bought the other books by Jessica Redland

I could only ever give this book a 5 star rating because it's simply magical. Not soft and mushy throughout, some tough problems that had to be faced from both main characters but lots of romance and hope.
It was great to learn more about hedgehogs and I hope to put that knowledge into use this summer. Cannot wait for the next in series.
