5.0 out of 5 starsAnother enjoyable hedgehog story!
Reviewed in Australia on 9 February 2021
“New Arrivals” is another delightful read in Jessica Redland’s wonderful “Hedgehog Hollow” series and I’m very glad that there appears to be at least one more in the making, going by the ending to this book!
This one was released at almost the perfect time too - January, 2021 - right when a good dose of comfort was desperately. For me, it was just the antidote to listening to haranguing American politicians!
Sweet, without being syrupy, realistic problems, with only some being solved, (making it that more realistic), interesting characters and both well written and well edited.
Now, if Jessica could just write as fast as I read......🤔

3.0 out of 5 starsLighthearted reading
Reviewed in Australia on 15 May 2021
Even though it was book two in a series, I managed to keep track of who was who. Would have filled in the gaps if I had read first book. The story kept me interested all the way through. A little predictable but a pleasant story with unrealistic happy endings for all concerned. I liked the unusual theme of Hedgehog rescue.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed!

Coming to the end of the book, I wasn’t happy that she has left it open for another book. Felt so cheated. Won’t go into the why’s and wherefores - it could have had a better ending!

2.0 out of 5 stars Repetition and not much about Hedgehogs

Although there is a little more about Hedgehogs in this book than the first. It's still mostly about making tea and crying. Romance and family dysfunction than rescue. Feels repetitive, with the main character continuing to take abuse from her cousin and mother. Very disappointed.

2.0 out of 5 stars It is pretty predictable and often repetitive.

There is way too much "sitting on Thomas's Bench" and definitely way too much crying.

3.0 out of 5 stars Font is too small

I loved the previous book so much that I couldn't wait to buy this one. However, I am finding it so hard to read purely because the font is so incredibly small it actually gives me headaches. I'm sure it's a good read but whoever printed this could have reduced their margins and made the font more comfortable to read.

How could any one person receive such bad experiences all through this book. I began to get irritated that she could be so perfect.

I think at 67 it's a bit too bland for me, not been able to read past first few pages. but you might like it.

I enjoyed the story but it was still developing when it just stopped. I feel disquiet. I thought I’d bought a book not a magazine with to be continued after a cliff hanger

How much drama and turmoil can occur to the main characters and still be believable? I enjoyed parts of the book but may need a break before reading another installment.
