After hearing much news about issues plaguing the joycons, I thought it'll be handy to get a more value-based controller to handle all the bashing, brawling and super-smashing. This serves that purpose well. The only disadvantage is I'm unsure if it supports vibration which some games rely on. But for this price, I guess that's an acceptable compromise.
It is AA powered so I can just use my bank of rechargeables which works well for my needs.

For a controller priced higher then the original, the feel of quality wasn't there and packaging was terrible. item arrived damaged and i ordered the controller as pictured and for a black and grey unit

it works very well, easy pairing, precise input, nice touch. just lacks any rumble at all which I didn't know I though it doesn't have that HD rumble that pro controller has but it's NO RUMBLE which is a kinda downside, butother than that I'm very happy

This remote works really well. Very easy to use. I just didn't realise it needed batteries. However, in saying that, I've had it for a few months now and have not needed to replace the batteries I put in so it seems to be energy sufficient. to be honest, I Don't think I checked that prior to purchasing. Would be 5star if it was rechargable.

After 2 months of light use, this unit developed Joycon drift. This is a negative feature of Nintendo controllers of all sorts. They barely last a few weeks before they start to fail

and worked perfectly well, nice colour/pattern on the controller as well. Kids use it all the time when on their Switch.

Looks good but quality is bad
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 January 2019Colour: BlackVerified Purchase
I bought this controller because it’s cheaper then the Pro controller, and I didn’t need NFC and rumble.
This controller feels confortable to play for long period of time, motion control works too, the pairing is automative, and the controller wakes the Switch up.
However, the left stick becomes reliable after one week of normal playing. I think it is because the left stick’s gotten used the most. The movement is jumping around. Open up the controller to have a look inside, to my horror, the manufacturing of the board is very low quality with many dry solder joints. This is why so many complaints on Amazon.com and .co.uk, for this controller after only very short time.
Returning this controller and getting the Pro controller instead.

Problemas de drift
Reviewed in Mexico on 7 December 2018Colour: Link SilhouetteVerified Purchase

DON'T BE TEMPTED BY THE CUTE DESIGNS

Cute design. Plastic feels cheep. No rumble. Takes AA batteries and Switch cannot not tell you how much juice is left in the controller. I don't feel it was worth the money I paid. These should be half the price for the quality and functions you get. I'm surprised these are officially licensed products, I expected better.
It has only had light use at the moment so I haven't had the issues and faults others have had with it.
Have already bought my partner the pro controller as I had bought him the Mario one of these and I felt bad I had given him something so cheep feeling!

Its OK, and is fine, but if you can stretch for the pro Controller then you should
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 February 2019Colour: BlackVerified Purchase
I bought one of these for a Switch I use at home to play games like Zelda and Diablo.
Having kids, I decided I needed an extra controller for the kids.
These new controllers are much cheaper than the PRO controller, so I thought I would give it a go.
Build Quality
***************
Its OK, but not as good as a PRO controller, feels plasticy, buttons feel cheaper.
In Use
*******
Played Diablo for a whole day with it, my fingers on the joystick on the left for moving means my finger hurt after a while, its uncomfy for extended play :( A real issue if you play games a lot.
No recharging either, its AA batteries only
So Its OK as a controller, but for a slight bit more the PRO controller offers, more comfort, rechargeable, built in rumble, built in AMIBOO reader, and in my opinion significantly better build quality

Don’t buy terrible drifting
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 July 2020Colour: Pokemon ShieldVerified Purchase
Pros: really cool images are on these controllers the kids loved it. That’s pretty much it...
Cons:
1. didn’t notice this when ordering but it is battery powered instead of rechargeable. I mean I understand some people like this but it’s 2020 I mean everything should be rechargeable at this point it saves on battery waste that there already is so much of.
2. It disconnects all the time from the Nintendo switch that we have to constantly reconnect it.
3. We’ve had this maybe two weeks and in that time have used the controllers maybe 6 or 7 times in that time frame and both controllers we purchase have already begun to drift terribly to the left. You can’t even make the character you’re controlling move right.
Honestly anyone who is thinking of buying this because they think it’s a bit cheaper on the wallet don’t the amount of money you’ll have to spend on batteries will add up to the normal Nintendo controllers cost in no time. The price on these are already very close to the normal ones sold by Nintendo and those ones are rechargeable.
Again this is a warning to anyone thinking of buying one of these stay away from these. I’d only recommend these if you really want something kinda cool looking to look at.
