Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day before her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in Los Angeles together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.
Can Ben’s relationship with Fallon—and simultaneously his novel—be considered a love story if it ends in heartbreak?

I loved the storyline of this book, it felt very different to anything I have read before. I loved the duel POV and loved getting in each of their heads.
In the last couple of their teenage years, Ben and Fallon have been through a lot, some of which no child should ever have to go through. These events of course led them towards each other and then together they go through a lot because of their pasts. Throughout that though this pair are incredible together, they have a brilliant connection and really just clicked.
I loved the twists in this book, and the banter between Fallon and Ben was just great.
I absolutely loved this book right from the first page, it sucked me in and wouldn’t let me put it down.
Another brilliant CoHo book and one I absolutely recommend to everyone.

There is much emotion, angst, some humour, some really good kisses, and heart gripping moments.
This story at times is poetic - with words dancing with one another to create beauty and feeling.
Read it, you won't be sorry.
Loved this book. Ben was perfect. It was both laugh out loud and heartbreaking. Feeling a big plot twist coming and trying to work out what it could be kept me so intrigued.
Off to read more Colleen Hoover...

I really liked the concept of this book and I don’t want to give to much of the plot away. I got hooked from the start and got through it so quick, I love Colleens writing.
I love both characters they were witty and tensor with each other but also helping each other grow as people and your rooting for them from the beginning. It is insta love which is referenced in the book but it didn’t annoy me as much as it normally does.

Things obviously don’t go smoothly and there is a couple of decisions Ben makes which I wasn’t a massive fan off. and the plot twist I didn’t expect and I felt it did lesson them as a couple. Other then that I overall did really enjoy this book.

I love how this author suddenly just hits you out of left field with a solid ball of emotion. The interconnected way these two characters lives have crossed over year after year is true romance. Very much a slow burn.
What I further love about this authors stories is the uniqueness, you never know where its going to go but you know at some point you are going to be awash with emotions. Love books with all the feels!

Victims of abuse may find this story and the way the characters are drawn out quite triggering (I work with victims so I understand toxic behaviour and red flags, and the impact of trauma!)
The message and conclusion of the book is disturbing and problematic. There are young impressionable readers and fans of this author so it’s quite worrying how toxic behaviour is romanticise and justified.
I am appalled. The only reason I read this book because the author is so popular (and you know what, kudos to any aspiring writer who becomes a success I’m all for supporting women and supporting aspiring writers). I’ve read Ugly Love before (it was alright), then Verity (rubbish!) and this is my third one. I can’t and won’t support this author anymore. Lost all respect. That’s how strongly I feel after reading this poor piece of work that sends the wrong message about relationships!
