5.0 out of 5 starsALl in one
Reviewed in Australia on 5 October 2019
It does the job with adding extra USB ports for my ultrabook. Work well, even HDMI port is working well, however when tried to pass dolby atmos with dolby access app from my laptop to my AVR it does not stay connected and hard to established a connection to AVR, could be a problem with the laptop or could be a problem with USB hub's HDMI output can not handle bandwidth. However to connect extra USB 3.0 sticks to the laptop that's this hub do the job as described.
Item posted as quick as usual amazon, as described in the add, overreroll I am happy with the product.

1.0 out of 5 starsPoor Build Quality: Broken USB Port
Reviewed in Australia on 13 July 2018
One of the USB ports isn't working ... I was trying to transfer a 10GB folder, and since the signal kept dropping in and out the transfer would stop completely. Really poor build quality would recommend spending your money elsewhere.

Furthermore, the return process is a nightmare since this was for my parents, and I'm not around to help them return it back to Amazon to get a replacement.

This is an excellent usb-c hub... I bought this about several weeks ago and love it! I was really only looking for a USB 3.0 to USB-C adapter, this adapter came with several ports. Unit is sturdy, better built than others I've used. This hub does great for data transfer accross all five prots at once,

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for monitor and charging but not ideal for data transfer
Reviewed in Australia on 29 June 2020

I bought this usb-c hub a few weeks ago and been using it since. To my point in the title, it works great when I plug in my monitor via HDMI to extend my macbook pro screen. The 2 usb-a port works perfectly as charger when I connect my iPhone to it.

But when it comes to data transfer, it is not as smooth. After I plug my iphone via usb-a-lightening cable, I see "Trust this computer" alert on my iphone popping up again and again and again. The connection is not very stable and drops frequently due to the same reason.

SD card slot works fine expect that sometimes macbook pro can't detect the storage after it is plugged in. I just unplug and plug again to get it work. This is not big issue given the price of this item.

Haven't tried external hard drive via usb-a yet so can't comment on that. (will probably update if I got a chance to try it)

4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy construction, solid connector but read the manufacturer's warning before purchase!!

Solid build, quality materials but read the manufacturer's warning (which I didn't do pre-purchase). I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch 2017 with Touch Bar (4 Thunderbolt ports) and plugging the hub into a port on the left side disconnects my WiFi connection. The warning provides tips for how to prevent this (changing WiFi to 5GHz band) but instead I plug it in to one of the ports on the right of my MBP. Update (September 2019): still no issues transferring data with this hub. 4 star rating still applies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what you're looking for!

I'm a designer and I needed something for my new Mac that would take USB-A (vintage), memory cards and handle up to 4K graphics if possible. I gave this hub a go and it is simply fantastic right out of the box. So much so that I forget it's there until I need to plug something into it!

I have tested everything and it all works seamlessly through the Mac's USB-C ports. I have the second monitor running through the HDMI port and I am pleased to report that there is absolutely no lag, delay, stuttering or drop outs.

Some people have spoken about USB speeds through this and I have been transferring large data very quickly, so the speeds to me are top notch.

Lastly some people have commented on 'over-heating'. All I can say if that I am running a second screen through the HDMI port all day and the hub gets luke-warm but not hot. The casing is solid and metal to the touch and so will be redistributing any heat that way - excellent design.

Solid, fast, excellent. Look no further unless you need more than 2 USB-A ports.

5.0 out of 5 stars Working fine as expected

Didn't notice there's no extra port for charging usb-c but good thing I have extra usb-c port to connect the hub. It's working fine for me with my Lenovo 6th gen Thinkpad X1 carbon, the HDMI is not that clear but I can watch Netflix and Prime. The other ports are working good and maybe the data transfer is slow but I don't mind about it.

So far so good but let's see how durable this is after few months.

4.0 out of 5 stars Value for money and works as described.

I bought this hub to use with my Surface Go, albeit without actually checking the specs. Turns out works well. I hooked up my external monitor to my go while having a flash drive and SD card plugged in. Data transfer worked as described as did other ports. I can't comment about the sound as I use headphones. Overall the hub does what it says. Good value for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you're looking to use this with a MacBook Pro you're going to have issues.

Build quality seems to be good and may hold up the test of time. However the one thing I find to be extremely annoying is that it works when it wants to. I am finding myself constantly unplugging and plug it back in, in order for the second screen to be detected. It doesn't seem to be my monitor as it works whenever another HDMI cable is hooked up nor does it seem to be my Macbook since every time it is connected it senses the second display and opens windows on that display even though it doesn't pop up. I find the fault in the connection as the USB mouse and keyboard seem to be working intermittently as well. I have not found a solution where I can make it work 100% of the time, and when I do I will update.

Update 4/16/2019: Seller had reached out to me in order to resolve my issue, I switched HDMI cables as they had suggested. Still doesn't work, however the problem may be an underlying issue with my MacBook refusing to cooperate with my monitor (LG 25UM58-P); so I cannot blame the seller. All in all, good product, does what it needs to and doesn't get hot as others suggested, then again I only have an HDMI cable, keyboard, and mouse hooked up. I believe it may overheat when transferring data to and from a flash drive/hard drive.
