Enhances usability and comfort at substantial cost

Improves the comfort of the Quest 2 by balancing it out. Sits much better on your noggin and is far easier to adjust and get on and off. The added battery life is great and also helps this balancing act.

This is the fit that you should ideally get out of the box with the Quest 2. It is an expensive addition but unfortunately I find it necessary. It just shouldn't cost this much.

The case is ok. The zipper tie is a joke and I can see it breaking off, making it extremely difficult to open/close the recessed zip. Case is nice and sturdy and the controllers fit in well too.

I also feel that fitting the Quest 2 in the case with the glasses spacer attached makes it too tight on the facial interface material where it rubs up against the plastic partition for the controllers. This means I don't use the case for day to day storage but would use it for travel.

Shipping time on this was abysmal.

It appears that this product is known to break during use. The arms of the head strap appears to crack and break. I contacted Oculus support and they told me they couldn't replace it because it is not available in my region. So I am sending it back to Amazon Australia for a full refund. Do not buy first party oculus accessories through amazon.

Essential for extended play sessions but a little pricey

Compared to the elastic strap this is an absolute dream and I would say is essential is you find the stock headset heavy. The battery gives a couple of extra hours play time and really balances out the headset. I would say it probably doubles the weight but as it is balanced you will not notice any difference. I hope in Quest 3 they take the battery out of the front completely as it makes no logical sense but that's another story. I really want to give this 4 stars as the price is just a little too high but I guess we are still the early adopters of this tech so cant really complain. If you have a Quest 2 I would say this is essential for sessions of longer than 30mins. The price sucks but bite the bullet and you wont regret it I don't think. There were also rumours of these breaking but in my experience I cant see this happening unless you were to stand on the arm(s) with some force. Build quality is really nice.

Was a luxury purchase definitely not a need the oculus has a good battery life as it is But it's definitely great to have. I'm surprised how long I play beat Saber for but this will ensure the battery never runs out on you. Cos if it does... You need the break

The secondary battery strap and carry case are really five star. I'd recommend both as essential components of the kit.
Only minus 1 star as this should really be the stock kit (the current stock strap is rubbish and the kit needs a case for storage and protection. Even with the increase in cost this should really be the minimum inclusion for the oculus 2.

I ordered this at the same time I ordered my 256Gb Quest 2 back in early October. The Quest 2 arrived on the 13th (release day) and the Elite Strap with battery pack arrived on 30th October. I don’t understand why people have reviewed it badly because of ‘delayed delivery date’. The order is fulfilled by Oculus and on the Oculus website they have been very clear that the strap would be released at a later date!

The cheap (cost-saving) strap that comes with the Quest really isn’t very good. It does the job but it’s a pain to fit (especially if you’re swapping the headset between people) and not very comfortable. This Elite strap is much, much better. It is easier to fit and provides much better support around the occiput. It is expensive (£120 for the strap with battery and carrying case, but, in my opinion, the strap is an essential extra. I found the battery life for the Quest 2 on it’s own was just over 2 hours with gameplay and casting, and with the battery strap I am getting around 4.5-5 hours without needing a charge. I do not have any other headsets to compare with but the weight of the battery around the back of the head definitely improves the balance.

Overall, the strap is an essential extra. The option of the battery strap will depend on personal preference and how long you intend to use the headset in one sitting.

Absolutely essentially for the Quest 2 if you plan to use the headset often. The strap is easy to install, adjust size, and rests even more comfortably as the battery pack is a great counterweight to the front-heavy device. As an added bonus, you are also getting the Carrying Case which for about $30 more (note: only through this bundle can you get the battery pack strap)

There are a ton of reports of broken straps; however, I am happy to say I have been unaffected. I generally loosen the strap all the way (turn back dial left) and then tighten once on my head. When I'm done playing, I loosen it again and remove. While I'm sure Oculus is working on a better fix, I think it is a general practice to treat the device with a bit of fragility and avoid any unnecessary strain

The case works well, albeit it a little large. The zipper is tiny and is largely hidden from view so that can be a little annoying when opening and closing. Otherwise it fits everything well and works for its intended purpose
