Photo is what I received, definitely not the Oculus link cable advertised

I have had a few third party usb c cables that claim to be good for the quest 2 using the usb Type A ports and to be honest third party cables can't hold a candle to the offical oculus fiber optic cable for oclus link.
The main benefits are you head set will charge and it will charge fast, how ever you need a REAL usb c port on your computer NOT AN ADAPTER I do think alot of the issue with people having problem are before there computer is not up to date, mainly there MOTHERBOARD if you have cheaped out on the motherboard in you PC built, you will most likely not be able to use this cable. Only get this cable IF YOU HAVE A MODERN MOTHERBOARD that is decent with usb c ports on the back.
Over all I am blown away how good the quality of graphics are now that oculus link are out of beta and the link cable shines, you want PC gaming to be lag free this is your cable handsdown but only if your PC has a USB C port, if you don't have that don't bother getting this untill you upgrade you motherboard or buy a pcie usb c port card.
This cable is for people that don't cheap out on motherboards and get the latest IO on there boards.
I have also tested this cable out on a macbook pro 16 inch intel in bootcamp windows and works great too.

The MAIN issue is that, this IS NOT the best way to experience PCVR on your quest headset, not by a long shot. I find my performance lackluster while using this cable.
I would suggest someone who is aiming to play pcvr to try the MUCH superior method of wireless streaming via virtual reality, it's 80% cheaper, performs better, wireless, and its just mind blowing tbh. Try that if your network can handling it first before buying this cable.
I move around alot and live in sharehouses so having this cable as a backup makes sense.
- Light & length is long enough to power the Quest 2 for far more than 2 hours of gaming/movies watching (most important)
- Charging is possible quite fast if you connect it to any USB-C 3.x port.
- Great performance on PCVR gaming using Oculus Link.
Con :
- A bit high on price.
In the case of this cable, that construction makes the cable much more supple and lightweight, yet capable of great speeds and can positively charge a quest 2 during play. When you buy a cheaper cable you're going to be making a compromise in one or more of those areas.
If you only sit to play racing or space sims you might get away with a cheaper 3m cable, or a heavier active cable, but for anything more active or where you're standing that weight of the cable is going to become more of an issue.
But the other option to look at is a wireless connection via Virtual Desktop. Because i play a lot of FPS games and don't use stick turning, even the mighty official link cable becomes twisted and loses its length. So now i use the link almost exclusively for seated experiences, and VD for everything else. The best USB cable still has limitations.

2) It's USB C both ends. I believe most people will need to purchase a converter to use on a standard USB A socket. It wouldn't hurt to include one (especially considering the price point)

This is what I get for buying the first run of new hardware before they work out the faults. Don't buy this cable. Quest 2 is still good on it's own(for low level games/apps), but if you're wanting something for PCVR I'd highly recommend a different headset. They might be pricier, but well worth it to avoid this headache.
