Ruby wasn't looking for love, Drew wasn't looking to stay...until they found each other. Can their fling survive the darkness of Ruby's past and Drew's desire to move on?
Ruby Jones was always an optimist, but the trauma of her past had made her wary. So when she flees to the small rural community of Bunyip Bay to start afresh, she has her sights firmly set on establishing her horse-riding business and rebuilding her life. The last thing Ruby wants is a romance. In fact, after all she has been through, she can't imagine she will ever believe in love again.
Police officer Drew Noble has no intention of staying in Bunyip Bay – he is just an outsider seeking temporary refuge. But as the charm of the town sways him, Drew finds himself increasingly drawn to the community and its inhabitants, as well as another newcomer, the lovely Ruby Jones.
When Drew investigates a suspicious fire at Ruby's parents' business, he finds himself feeling strangely protective of the girl with the flowers in her hair. As the details of Ruby's past emerge and she comes once more under threat, Drew realizes he will do all in his power to save her.
Soon, these outsiders discover they have both lost their hearts – not only to the town but to each other.

Constable Drew Noble is an English import to the police force at Bunyip Bay. He has a mysterious past that even his superiors don't seem to know.
He never thought he'd meet a woman like Ruby Jones, who would make him think twice about his future plans, but the attraction between him and the lovely horsewoman is strong. First Ruby's parents' Ag Store is burned down and it looks suspicious. In a small town, that causes trouble for several residents including Ruby. Once Ruby seems to be under threat, Drew feels he must do all he can to keep her safe.
But what of things back in England that could soon call him home?

Police constable Drew Noble had only been in Bunyip Bay for a couple of months and was finding the country friendship and hospitality a big difference from his home in England. He wasn’t sure he could get used to stopping and chatting to everyone during the day; but he wouldn’t be in town long anyway. When he was told by his superior to attend the meeting of the Undies Run (and volunteer!) he had no idea lives would change that night…
The suspected arson which destroyed the Ag store and Ruby’s parents’ livelihood that night was the beginning of a devastating run of events which would bring most people undone. But as Drew and his offsiders investigated, it seemed the town was divided in who they thought was to blame. Frustrated and annoyed, Drew knew he was missing something – but could he discover answers before it was too late? And was it worth getting to know Ruby more when he was leaving Bunyip Bay?
Outback Blaze by Aussie author Rachael Johns is another gripping romantic suspense in the Bunyip Bay series, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Mystery, intrigue and suspense blends with light romance to make a highly entertaining read. Highly recommended.

Even though Outback Blaze can be read as a standalone, it follows off from Outback Dreams. I enjoyed catching up with Faith and Monty (H&H from Outback Dreams) in this book.
Rachael Johns has an easy going writing style that makes you want to keep reading. We met Ruby in Outback Dreams but now she is the heroine and is paired up with a policeman from England, Drew. I really enjoyed seeing them come together and work through their differences.
There's plenty of fun with a number of secondary characters. I'm definitely looking forward to Outback Ghost!
Well done Rachael on yet another fab romance :)

Ruby's parents own a Rural Store in Bunyip Bay and also also are keeping a large and very personal secret.
Drew has come to Australia under a cloud, and is using an assumed name. He is working within the West Australian Police Force.
Sooo,.......Ruby and Drew are attracted to each other and eventually get together. There is bad blood from Ruby's former relationship and this causes a lot of grief . I really enjoyed this book, I think the whole series is a must read as "Rachael John's takes you on a great journey through the lives of these people.
