5.0 out of 5 starsHighly recommend
Reviewed in Australia on 18 January 2020
Got both the 1000 and 2000 series from Philips, and even though we were skeptical whether they worked, the air has been so bad lately in Australia that we had to do something. And YES, we noticed a difference. We tested it too .. it was reading "good" air inside, but it was smokey outside, so we opened the door for less than a minute and the Philips went into overdrive immediately sensing the smoke we'd just let in. So happy and would absolutely recommend this brand for air purifying.

1.0 out of 5 starsWay too expensive for what it does
Reviewed in Australia on 19 February 2022
Bought it because it was expensive so I figured it would be good. Sadly it’s rubbish.
No remote control, only 4 fan speed modes and no way to set it up for smart fan speed for when it detects smoke and it should rev up to a higher fan speed.
Sleep mode fan noise is acceptable but anything above 2 is so loud!
When on highest fan speed it is ridiculously loud!
Replacement filters are also very expensive.

Returned it after 3 days and bought a Daikin for high was cheaper, came with remote control, auto fans and it came with free replacement filters.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works great

I have a one bedroom Sydney city unit (on level 8), and I see it clears the dust within about 40-45 minutes. My place can get dusty, gets a bit of street pollution, and also smoke from backburning. The colours on the ring let me know what level of particulate matter is currently in there and I can breathe much easier because of it. I like it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soothingly quiet, yet effective.

Was comparing Philips 2000 with cheaper and more portable alternatives. But thought, since this purchase is meant to last for at least a decade, why invest in cheaper solution, sacrificing speed of filteration. Who knows what dusty situations you may be in 10 years.

Biggest advantage is air filter is 27x35cm. This is huge surface area to capture dust. Larger then A4 sheet of paper.

Second main advantage is it's silent sleep (SL) mode. Which produces soothing, gentle "ffffff" sound. Kind of like brown noise at low volume. With strong enough blow that it can still lift up the weight of A4 sheet of paper.

In conclusion, unit is appropriate (in my opinion) in 2 environments: (1) next to you at home, without it disturbing your studies (2) sleep.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great at sale price

I'm happy with this product. Best value for money during the Black Friday sale. Only had it a short time & am using it for a bedroom, but it clears the air well so I can sleep without sneezing & really need it when I breathe through the mouth sometimes while I sleep. Also, appreciate the screen which indicates the level of particles in the air which is a very useful guide to when I have to clean & what may be causing the dust. Previously used a BlueAir which worked well but had the price of smoke stop filters steadily rising & approaching twice the cost with its single filter compared to the three with the Philips. Anyway happy so far.

My son has a dust mite allergy and having this device in his room has made the air air much cleaner and reduced his allergic reaction significantly.

Amazon Customer
5.0 out of 5 stars it works for heyfever and dust allegies
Reviewed in Australia on 27 November 2020
I have owned Philips 1000 air purifier (Smaller unit) for the last 12months, and my dust allergy is 99% gone. My dust allergy and hay fever were really serious, I had to take antihistamine daily basis. It I skipped one day, the next few days my nose wouldn't stop running, watery eyes and ears, itchy skin overall massive fatigue and exhaustion.....It was absolutely horrible. I paid less for a bigger size( 2000 ) for less $ than I paid at the local goodguys store. I am very happy with the price Amazon provided for the Black Friday sale!!! If there is anyone out there reading my review who is allergic for dust (especially house dust from blankets or clothes) and serious hay fever get this air purifier. your life will change within a day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product - Helped with Allergies/Respiratory Issues
Reviewed in Australia on 19 July 2021
I bought this as it I am currently renovating and the dust has given me some respiratory and allergy issues. I have it running in the bedroom and that has helped in clearing up the air and for me to have better control over my respiratory/allergy problems. The unit is highly sensitive to dust particles, so ramps up and down automatically according to need. Might be slightly noisy when it is running at full blast but it has a sleep mode for night use. I highly recommend this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great at air purifying, terrible WiFi connectivty and control features
Reviewed in Australia on 14 July 2020

It's bread and butter functions (air purification) and modes work really well. The dust and detritus the pre-filter collected after a couple of weeks of it operating in our living room was a real eye opener for us. Can't believe we were previously breathing that stuff in, and that's just the stuff you can see! The WiFi features are woeful, I can't get either of my machines to even go into WiFi set up/connect mode, let alone get to the point of using the app to see additional air quality info. I'm following the instructions to the letter. Reading other reviews it seems even if you can manage to connect the app it is quite flakey. Buy this machine because you want to improve your indoor air quality (it does this very well) but don't buy it for the wireless features.

5.0 out of 5 stars I like the numerical display of particle count.

Having COPD and Asthma a recent windy spell brought dust and pollen from afar. It was misery. Bought the Philips unit and it went "mad" initially cleaning the air. Have had it three months, bought two more (via Amazon) at Aus$299 each for the kids and our hay fever-affected grandchildren. Also bought a Philips 1000 for the bedroom but it doesn't have the digital display.
