The characters and plot are in incredible depth yet the story is easy to follow and very well communicated. The author uses brilliant word imagery and tells an entertaining and original tale deep with fantasy and heritage. Would highly recommend!

Promising new superhero saga!
Reviewed in Canada on 24 March 2021Verified Purchase
This book has a great story that combines classic superhero tropes and analogs of classic character types with new and exciting ideas. It manages to elevate specific cultures without being overbearing or too political, all while wrapping it up into a package that is purely superhero to the core.
If you're more of a fan of formal writing, then this book may not be for you, as it flows more like a comic book script. If you are okay with the casual delivery of the story, like myself, then you will definitely enjoy it!

The font is small and I couldn’t get beyond the first paragraph. I was looking forward to a Jamaican hero. Also, I should’ve checked, but the cover led me to assume it was a graphic novel (it isn’t). Anyways, I wish this had gone through some more editing.

Hot garbage in pretty packaging

First and foremost, do not let the cover fool you, this is not a graphic novel.
Secondly, it isn't a good story. There are some parts that have potential, but the execution just isn't there. It reads like a first draft, just nonsensical ideas thrown together and written down before the author could forget them. Some of these ideas are just flat out stupid. Take for example, the whole world hates Jamaica and other Caribbean islands because they decided to band together and take over the rest of the world. WTAF? Or a time travel scene where people in Africa, 2million years ago, speak English with a Jamaican accent, even throwing in the obligatory "mon" at the end of every other piece of dialogue. Or why these ancient Africans use kung fu? It just doesn't make sense.
Also, there is a DIRE need for some editing. Grammar and spelling mistakes run rampant, random paragraph breaks with no real structure. Run on sentences, repeated sentences, awkward wording, it's all in there. If I had to guess this was written by a young teenager. Run through a few more drafts and cut out some of the more ridiculous parts and maybe it would be worth a read, but as it is I recommend giving this a hard pass.
