I've had bleached hair for 15 years and this is hands down the strongest toner I've ever used. Lifts the colour in under a minute on my hair and being a toning mask, it doesn't leave hair feeling crispy in the way that many toning shampoos do

Not worth it.

Minimal result, nothing like the review photos. Very disappointed. Followed instructions and kept product on for 10 minutes. I have better results with the Fanola shampoo.

After going to the hairdressers and asking for lighter blonde hair, I ended up with a gingery tinge! Not wanting to use any more colouring products I bought the purple hair mask. First use I left it on for 8 minutes and there was definite improvement. While the top half of my hair was still gingery it was much less and the rest of my hair looked great. I used the mask the following day and left it on for 10 minutes. I am very pleased with the results, both colour wise and condition wise and will use again within the next few days to get the tone I am after. Since using the mask I have also ordered the shampoo for daily upkeep.

Update 22nd June 2019: I now use this regularly because it is a fantastic conditioner especially if you have dry hair.

Update 8th August 2020:Having had highlights done at the hairdressers 4 weeks ago and asking for silver I ended up with dry blonde hair! Just used the hair mask and left it on for 10 minutes and my hair is now the colour I wanted! Will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

Update 4th April 2022: I had been using this product for years with GREAT results but the last tub I received did anything at all! Could be a fake product as I've noticed similar comments in recent reviews. VERY disappointing and I won't be buying again.

Update 4th June 2022: I've removed 4 stars.

I contacted BoldUnique because I thought the last pot was a possible fake product being sold by a third party. Or it could have been a batch that was faulty. Either way, I thought I was helping by letting them know. Unfortunately they didn't understand my concerns and I was totally shocked by their replies and attitude which really affected my wellbeing. Such a pity as this used to be an excellent product but after my last experience and their e-mail correspondence I won't be buying again nor will I recommend.

Hab die Maske 10 min drauf gelassen und jetzt habe ich extrem blaue Haare 😳😫😤 und auch nach gefühlt 20x Haare waschen sind die Haare immer noch blau 😑 ich kann sie auf hell blonden gefärbten Haaren nicht empfehlen!

Extremely disappointed. I saw a lot of reviews on amazon regarding the mask and decided to give it a try. But it ruined my hair! I had spent over $600 on my hair and needed a nice mask, this made my hair so orange [Before is the photo in blue shirt, after using product is the photo in orange shirt] ! My hair is a dark blond with very light blond highlight, I thought this was anti- brass, but my hair turned orange after one use! Would not recommend . Save your money and do not buy this product, if you want something good go buy the Theory Purple Shampoo or Joico Purple Shampoo, overtime it will eliminate the brassiness. I am so disappointed .

I had great hopes for this mask! Unfortunately it did nothing for my hair! (My ends are a level 10 and are now blue as the mask is blue NOT purple!) I usually use jerome Russel Bblonde silver toner and it works amazingly and at a fraction of a cost compared to this! I left the mask on my hair for around 30 minutes because I do have some darker blonde patches from previous brown dye but the virgin bleached hair (roots) that is a level 9 didn't get any less yellow/brassy! I also had to condition after using as my hair felt dry! Don't waste your money, try the toner I suggested above and save yourself disappointment and money!
*Edit to add I was refunded instantly by B.U as it states in the leaflet once I contacted them to say I wasn't happy so very pleased with the company itself!

Got my mask yesterday.. Tried and i am so disappointed..
I put mask in my hair, leave it for only 3min and rinse out..
Now my skin burn, all my head is red and i can't even touch it without pain..plus my hair color is the same like before..
I am not gonna use it anymore it's not worth it.........

First of all it is messy and stains everything it touches secondly you’ve got to wash your hair before you can apply it and then leave it on for sometimes so it’s no good using it in the shower. It is very drying to the hair and not what I would call a moisturising mask. This mask was blue not purple which I expected as purple is the best colour for brassiness. It is a very messy product and is so intense it actually affected the grout in the shower even though I tried to be careful. I left it o. For the time specified for first use but I could see looking at my hair that it was not working. I gradually increased the amount of time I left it on for to give it the best chance of success but unfortunately it didn't do anything for my hair or my hair washing experience! If it had of worked I would of persevered and put up with the messy stressful experience but it made no difference to my hair. I actually have been generous with the stars awarded.

Don't purchase to eliminate orange tones!!!

Great if your already blonde and looking to remove yellow do not buy for orange tones it won't work.
I dont know why some reviews say it worked on the orange hair it won't.
It shouldn't say it removes brassy tones it won't, only yellow.
It's a purple mask that removes yellow it would have to be a blue mask to remove orange.
It's great that they offer you a refund and you don't have to send it back but what a waste of time buying it and getting my hopes up.

Not working in highlights on dark hair

I had a dark brown natural hair with blonde highlights. My highlights were ashy blonde but they turned into brassy. I've first tested in a part from neckline. It didn't worked for 15mins. So I've done 20mins on my full hair. It didn't give any difference. 10 days later I've done another 20 minutes. I should say it make a very slight difference on the tone but not visible too much. Mask works good as a conditioner. Not the best but good. I will keep it for now, and try again as soon as my hairdresser change my colour. I will go with silver highlights then this product could help, i hope.

Disappointing with the Hair Mask (its Blue)

As a huge fan of the B Uniq shampoo, I thought I'd give the hair mask a try.
It's on me for not correctly reading the description which states "purple hair mask - blue masque".
Had I seen this I wouldn't have bothered, blue isn't great for highlighted hair and has a tendency to turn a little green.
That said it did an OK job of taking some of the brassiness out of my browner roots. I do think that there are better blue shampoos if this is what you are after.
Stick to the shampoo; it's thick enough to use as a mask and gets the ashy look that most people are after.
