5.0 out of 5 starsGood headset for zoom meetings
Reviewed in Australia on 6 December 2020
I got these purely for zoom meetings for work. I just wanted a headset with a mic that didn't look too much like a hardcore gaming headset. I got them during the black friday sale, so for the price I paid these were perfect.

My colleagues say my voice is crystal clear. The sound is fine for meetings. It's not as comfy as my pair of Bose QC35s, I feel the quality of the ead pads aren't as soft, but for the price it's still amazing.

One thing to consider is the mic is a bendable arm so you can't just swivel the mic away entirely like other headsets. This wasn't really an issue for me as having the mic arm always there didn't bother me and I didn't really notice it, it's pretty thin. In fact for me it was a feature because my voice was a bit loud (even though I dialled it down in the software settings) and I fixed it by moving the mic slightly further away from my mouth. If the mic arm was fixed I couldn't have done this, so it was a lucky feature for me.

2.0 out of 5 starsWould of been a great product if the headset was more durable... be warned.
Reviewed in Australia on 13 April 2021
I've been using the headset for the past 3 months now. Was happy with the mic and sound quality. It was a bit uncomfortable to wear at first but you get used to it.

One day when adjusting my headset, the side where you adjust the length of the headset snapped. I didn't even apply any strong pressure on it. Was super disappointed. Time to find a more durable headset.

2.0 out of 5 stars Was decent, but the headband is VERY brittle
Reviewed in Australia on 27 March 2021

Works fine and is at a nice budget price point (when on sale, which is every now and then).
Do be aware that the amazon image is of the Kraken not the Kraken X (though the "from the manufacturer" images appear to be correct).
Additionally, as someone else pointed, the headband seems to snap easily? The top headband of the Kraken X is made of plastic. My one has snapped in several places as well. However, some of the synthetic material is still holding it together for now... I don't use this outside of the house so I am a bit concerned about how quickly it snapped. (within 3 months).

Edit: 9 months after purchase, it has snapped in half. Lowered my rating to 2 stars.

1.0 out of 5 stars Plastic is Brittle
Reviewed in Australia on 11 January 2022

My son owned these for 2 months when the plastic headband snapped. Looking at other reviews, this seems to be a common problem with this headset.

I received a replacement, which also had to be returned. It had no noise cancelling and the sound quality was terrible.

2.0 out of 5 stars Headband snapped - Disappointed by a lack of durability
Reviewed in Australia on 5 March 2021
Verified Purchase
I was able to use these headphones for 3 months before the plastic band cracked through above the left ear, meaning the headphones can no longer sit on the head. Very disappointed with the lack of durability from what I thought was a quality product from a quality brand.

However, I was impressed by the sound quality and comfort offered by these headphones before they snapped and were no longer usable.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Sound quality and Price
Reviewed in Australia on 16 May 2021

Good sound quality, easy to hear and comes with surround sound program. It was easy to set up and is very comfortable because it uses soft foam. Very happy with the price and quality.
---CHANGED REVIEW---
Sound and mic quality is outstanding although the plastic structure makes the headband prone to snapping, which it did after 6-7 months of continuous use. Contacted razer and they redirected me to amazon, and promptly refunded me after I returned the damaged product. Outstanding customer service from both Amazon or Razer.

2.0 out of 5 stars Decent sound, Not durable.
Reviewed in Australia on 27 October 2021
Verified Purchase
At first impressions, this pair of headphones seemed like it was a great value, the sound quality was pretty decent for it's price - it's a bit bass heavy, but it is clear. And it fit's comfortably on your ears. The 7.1 surround sound is not obviously true surround sound but it is software simulated, without it turned on, the headphones lacks depth, it's better to leave it on. The microphone quality is okay and clear for gaming, not the best.

However, after 7 months of general use (which Razer Support calls this "wear and tear & abuse" - which will not be covered) the headband seemed to crack slightly, 2 months after that it finally snapped, leaving it really uncomfortable and hard to use. I would not recommend this product to anyone who uses it correctly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good value for the price
Reviewed in Australia on 8 November 2020

bought this on prime day for about 50 dollars and although taking along time to arrive when it did it was great. The microphone and audio quality is good for all the things I need it for. Not to mention the fact that this budget headset come with 7.1 surround sound which along with everything else works great, in game I can tell exactly were enemies are just from sound. The only problem is the fully plastic build but that's what to expect for a budget headset. if you are very serious in gaming I would recommend getting something a bit better but if your just a casual gamer and want something affordable and works well I recommend this

1.0 out of 5 stars Broke within less than a year of normal use, company refuses to cover under warranty
Reviewed in Australia on 15 January 2022
Verified Purchase
When I first purchased this headset I was a little underwhelmed at the quality relative to the price, but was ultimately satisfied. After half a year, the top covering began to come away, exposing the foam. I ignored this, as it didn't affect the functioning of the headset itself, annoying as it was. However, within less than a year of using this headset, the connection between the right earcup and the main headset broke.

The company website will claim that these headphones have a two year warranty. This, however, is misleading, as any physical damage to the speaker will be assessed as "customer caused."

Be warned that the physical quality of the headset itself is very poor. I did not mistreat the headset in any way, and the only reason I can think as to why the right earcup suddenly snapped (while sitting on my head) is that it is not actually designed to allow you to adjust the length of the earcups, and that doing so will cause stress to build up over time.

I purchased this item at a significant discount, and I still feel ripped off. If you absolutely have to buy this product, please do not do so at full price.

2.0 out of 5 stars It snapped in less than a year of use
Reviewed in Australia on 3 January 2022

It was decent with its audio quality on music/movies, gaming is okay as I usually play valorant and the footsteps are quite clear but it's not obviously the best.

However, I bought this headset around mid-2021 and right now it's the 2nd of Jan 2022, the band on top just snapped without any drop of abusive use. Do not trust the star rating as the build quality speaks for the price, It will break in less than a year.
