I can’t even tell you how sad I am this chapter of Maggie Coles Mafia Wars series is over 😢

I honestly didn’t think I could love a story or a couple more than another, but Finn & Brennas 2 decade long heartbreaking journey of love lost & redemption damn near BROKE me.

It is the most fitting end I could have hoped for to one of my absolute favourite series of all time. I was fanning myself right from the get-go at the pure certainty & primal possessiveness Finn has, the very second he lays eyes on Brenna 🥵……. Then came the tissues…. For all of the unfair injustices ……. Then there was more fanning, and yet more tissues, this time with a trembling lipped smile as my heart just about burst for a whole different reason.

I have loved every book in this series, but the way Maggie wrote this last one, it is abundantly clear that she has poured all of the love she has carried for these characters & this world into her words. It emanates off the page, right into me as I read.

And although she did a beautiful job of organically wrapping the series up and letting you know about all your favourite past characters, I feel bereft as I don’t want to be done with the Ivanovs & O’Malleys.

I know it’s a big call (& I technically finished this book on Jan 2nd) but after revisiting my past years ‘Read Books’ it’s clearly my 1# favourite read of 2021.

WOW what a finale! I absolutely loved every book, every character but Finn and Brenna’s story broke my heart and had me high fiving when they FINALLY find each other. This is such a tragic tale of ruthless pricks causing Finn and Brenna’s tragedy. It was so good to read their entire story, how they met and how they were ripped apart. For 21 years they never stopped loving each other, Brenna thinking Finn was dead all that time, and Finn never giving up looking for her and who kidnapped her. This book is amazing and the final wrap of all the characters was done so well. Excellent work Maggie Cole, really looking forward to the Marinos of New York 🥰🥰🥰

This is the book that wraps up the series. (Apart from book 9) I've loved all of them - the hard alpha men, the story that unfolds throughout the series is violent and intriguing.
Finn and Brenna's story starts when they are young giving us a look at some of the 'boys' we've met in the series as young men.
The story is s passionate, sad and ultimately HEA.
I couldn't put this book down and read until my battery ran out. I would recommend reading the entire series this isn't a stand-alone.

A fitting end to the O’Malley series

What a fitting end to the O’Malleys in the Mafia War series. Finn & Brenna’s story has it all and shows true love conquers all. I thought my emotions couldn’t go any further after the previous books but This book took my emotions on a roller coaster ride. I can’t decide who is my favourite Finn or Brenna but they both make the conclusion to this series fitting. I’m sure we will still get glimpses of the O’Malleys and Ivanovs in the new series. Thank you Maggie Cole for your excellent writing

I don’t even know where to start with this one! Parts of the book are really good, parts are insane! That would never ever happen!

At the beginning of the book, Finn is just being released from prison. After serving 20 years for murder. It gets really confusing on who has been murdered, and who he is murdering now. Then it goes back to the beginning. Confused, you will be!

Brenna is a trainee nurse, who is dating a rich, arrogant, domineering man who her mother loves. When he proposes to her in the restaurant with their parents there. (?) She turns him down and he’s infuriated.

The next night she goes out with her room mate and meets Finn. Finn O Malley is part of the Irish family, that controls Chicago. His job is to hunt people down and kill them. Finn knows straight away that Brenna is it for him. But he’s so angry all the time. And he’s insecure about her wanting someone who is rich, that they argue a lot. Brenna at times is almost begging him to not finish with her, as he feels he’s not good enough?? So without spoiling it. Something bad happens to Brenna and Finn goes to prison for twenty years. This is where it lost me. Too many inaccuracies. She was there at the murder scene. Why was her fingerprints not brought up. Why was she not wanted for questioning about it?

The next part of the book is crazy! Without spoiling it, I was really annoyed! Skipping ahead, Brenna is on the run after she did something bad. While on the run she is bought by an Italian mobster and becomes his daughters nanny and his mistress for over ten years. Finn comes out of prison and goes on the hunt to find her.

Too many inaccuracies, too many sentences that don’t make sense, too many questions about what happened. Parts of the plot are never explained. As I suspect the author herself got carried away, with too many characters and we never know who they all are. Brenna after being held captive for over ten years, would need serious counselling and wouldn’t just jump into bed with Finn straight away! No way!!! And don’t get me started on how Finn is now really really rich. 😂 As that part didn’t make sense either!!

Did I enjoy it? Parts of it, yes. Wish I hadn’t read it though. As it’s so dark and depressing that I felt glad when it was finished. Almost wish I could erase it from my mind.

This story is almost completely covered by Both the Ivanovs and O'Malley stories except you get very little of Brena's side or the very beginning of Finn. I really don't enjoy the repetitive nature of this type story, but it's okay... I kept thinking this was going to end with a hook for the Italian New York brothers stories but it actually ends with them married with kids and at the wedding. I really felt desperately sad for these two in this story, she should have pleaded self defense and surely she'd have gotten off. FINN wouldn't have been in prison for 20 years and she wouldn't have been TRAFFICKED into slavery of a sort. They both lost 20 years and a lot of the dreams they had. And then to finally get Sean's story sorta... it is another horrible miss justice... it made me wish their twin sisters husbands could be tortured again they both deserved to have their hearts sent home to their Rossi and Bailey Masters after bubba helped them with some dirty fun with the rats... but I am a bit vindictive I guess. Certainly their safes should have been searched... but as sad as the series ended in this story of lost and found love... the rest was full of both happy and scary suspense. DECLAN, KILLIAN, AND NOLAN STORIES ARE Probably my favorites for all the series although the very first Ivanovs story was very creative with the blindfold mystery lover... I suspect the Italian brothers will have a series too. This is a pretty good series.

Finn O’Malley stole my heart….This final book was my favourite book of the series. It’s a story you need to read, and experience for yourself. So I’m keeping my review short and sweet. All I’m saying is it pulls out all the emotions.

Really looking forward to what’s next by this author.

Survival became their only battle- neither giving up - neither realising what was to come. Sometimes you really do get the love of your life back -- forever. I shed so many tears reading this- I felt so much for these two. WOW !!!! Now I'm going to have to get the paperback for my collection of favourites !!!!!
