Resident Evil movies have an annoying habbit of not picking up where the last one left us on a cliffhanger, rather a year down the line and the final chapter is no exception. It is more annoying than ever as the previous movie left us with 2 characters from the games standing alongside Alice, oh no, now they're dead and we missed the epic battle that was just about to kick off at the end of the last one in the gap between movies.
Seriously?!

Great popcorn movie
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 July 2021Verified Purchase
Never understood the backlash/bad press the RE movies got based on the video games of the same name. Yes they'll never win any Oscars but they're good popcorn movies, with plenty of "game reference", switch off your brain for 90 minutes and have fun. Picked up the blu-ray at a great price and will finish my collection of other blu-ray's in the series, until they add another final, final RE movie, Welcome to Racoon City anyone? :D

An Enjoyable Movie Franchise
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 October 2017Verified Purchase
Big fan of this franchise, It might not be everyone's cup of tea but still they are the most successful game to film franchise ever. The movies are always action packed and the storylines have always been pretty good too. Even if some of the earlier movies lacked that final cutting edge to make them great movies they are always enjoyable to watch. The later movies in this franchise have benefited massively from the 3D format and look great with Paul W.S Anderson filming the last few with proper 3D rigs. Sadly this one wasn't shot in 3D, rather it was converted but it is still in IMAX 3D and looks great. A great way to end the franchise.

A good film with some flaws
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 January 2018Verified Purchase
Getting the negative out of the way, my problems with the film have nothing to do with the acting or story, it is the jump cuts, shaky cam and editing, the transitions and fight scenes are fast paste, cutting from angles and views quickly which make it hard to follow. Also Albert Wesker is wasted and under used in this movie.
The story is good enough, the acting is fine, as you'd expect from a Resi film, Milla Jovovich and Ian Glenn (Dr Issacs,) stand out in particular, in my opinion, with good performances from Shawn Roberts (Albert Wesker,) and Ali Larter (Clair Redfield,)

2nd best in the series

The resident evil series is a guilty pleasure of mine. Having seen them all i was hesitant about the "last one" as they have declined slighty in quality over the years...
But the series definately goes out on a high note imo, this is my second favourite out of the series with the 1st film being my favourite.
