Rider Waite Tarot Deck - Giant Cards – 2 December 1993

Enhance your purchase
In 1909, Arthur Edward Waite encouraged Pamela Colman Smith to produce a tarot deck with appeal to the world of art that would have significance behind the symbols and thus make the deck more important than tarot packs previously used for centuries. The result was the unique Rider-Waite tarot deck which has endured as the world's most popular 78-card tarot deck. The innovative cards, including the 56 Minor Arcana, depict full scenes with figures and symbols. This feature, combined with Pamela Colman Smith's ability to capture the subtleties of emotion and experience, has made the Rider-Waite Tarot the basis for the designs of many century decks. The world's most popular deck! The full color, 78-card taint by Pamela Colman Smith has long been a favorite among tarot enthusiast. Accurate color tones on each card. English titles.

How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I'm very happy with these giant cards, the cardstock is thick and excellent quality. I use these giant cards for studying as you can see all the fine details in the images. I use the standard deck size for readings as they are easier to shuffle and I use the pocket size for travelling. I have included photos to compare the different deck sizes (giant, standard, pocket sizes). I also have additional books on the Rider-Waite Smith tarot to go deeper into the cards which is so helpful.

I have a few Rider Waite Tarot decks. Because of poor eye site I brought these so I can see the detail in the cards better. I use my smaller cards then get the cards I pulled out of the giant deck. They work really well. The quality of the cards is great. I really happy.

Thought this would be an extravagance!
The larger cards have made studying the images so much easier.
Highly recommend the giant deck to everyone.

Are these cards very close to the original 1970s version-those that came in a blue box? Only seen them on screen but they seem very close in color and design unlike other versions of the deck that I have seen.Waite`s own cards were borrowed from his daughter to ensure accurate reproduction and color in producing these cards. The details on these cards are very clear.

A must-have for rider-waite fans
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 December 2007Verified Purchase
I bought these cards after having bought the normal size original rider-waite cards. They are gorgeous! The colours contain the blues, missing from the 'original' pack.I think this giant pack is a giant version of the 'rider-waite' cards (as opposed to 'original rider-waite').
The pictures are the same line drawings as presented in Waites' book 'the pictorial key to the tarot', which I prefer over those on the 'original' cards e.g. faces on some cards do differ markedly. The size does make shuffling difficult, but that is a minor draw-back; shuffling will have to be on the table which still works.Do buy them, they come with a great little booklet and some notes on Pamela Coleman-smith. These are really great value for money.

Massive and mighty cards, great to connect with.

Hard to shuffle but that’s the only bad thing about these cards. Have connected with them and use them most readings as a starting deck.

Blown up images of poor facsimiles - colours and details very reduced in quality to garish with blurred black outlines. Avoid.
