This is one comfortable seat cushion

I have tried 4 cushions since I purchased my Waterrower, which I love. First I started with no cushion. I row at least 4 times a week for over 30 minutes. After a while I realized I needed some additional padding. I tried a thick cushion, but it changed my angle of body position and I realized it was no good on the first pull. Then a used a thin gel cushion which I liked. Over time the gel began to shift and I started looking for a new pad. I tried a thin non-gel pad and it did not provide enough support, then I bought this gel seat cushion. It fits the seat well and stays in place. The gel is thin, but gives enough cushion to be comfortable. I plan to use this pda for a long time to come - I recommend it.

Thin, but just enough

I bought this for my Aviron rower. You can see in the picture how it fits on their seat. It is nice and thin, but the gel cushioning makes it so much better for long rows. I thought I'd like the thicker model 1 made by the same company. I bought and tried both this one and that one, but returned the other one because it was too thick and firm for my liking. This cushion does the job perfectly. It does not move at all during rowing and is breathable.

Fits perfectly on my Concept2 Model D rower. Love that it is very thin so it doesn't change the mechanics of the rowing action. Makes a HUGE difference for those "sit" bones and is very stable, hasn't moved yet. I had purchased the foam pad from Concept2 but didn't like that it had to be stuck down or that it was just foam and would deteriorate quickly. This is gel and has a nice cover on it (not removable) and is patterned in such a manner to help it stay in place.

I have been working from home since March with increasing back pain that I am now able to point towards my "ergonomically correct" chair. I plopped this little dude down and it felt so much better, so dual use for it!

Enjoy my Concept2 erg . . . definitely my cardio of choice and will do over a million meters this year. The seat pad is exactly as I expected it to be, a thin, firm gel pad that give an additional bit of cushion to the seat. It's not plush or cushy, it's a thin layer of gel that provides a little extra padding. At this point I've rowed 50,000 meters with it and it stays in place perfectly and performs as advertised. Very pleased with the product and the purchase. If you want more cushion, perhaps check out alternative models from same manufacturers. This one is exactly what I wanted.

Not very comfortable, little improvement over bare seat

I tried my usual rowing routine with this to compare it to what I had been using, which was just a few folded towels placed on the seat. I do a 45-minute row on a Concept 2 and usually my butt starts to get uncomfortable at about the 20 minute mark.

Well this cushion didn't make much difference. I got maybe five more minutes before I got uncomfortable. It seems well made and sturdy but just had almost no effect on comfort. I will be returning it today and trying something else.

Not Thick Enough

So bummed I somehow lost my Model 1 that I had for 3 or so years - it’s out of stock so I couldn’t replace it so I bought this one instead. I use this for Orange Theory Fitness HIIT workouts, which incorporates water rowing machines literally every class. Model 1 has seriously done my butt and tailbone wonders and made rowing much more comfortable and doable.

Unfortunately this very thin version did not do the job at all. It is not thick enough and didn’t help my tailbone from feeling uncomfortable from the row machine seat. My tailbone was hurting immediately using this. It’s just not enough padding. This is going back.

I’ll be purchasing the other model 2 and trying that out. I like that the cover comes off so you can wash jt, but not too thrilled with the addition of the straps - I think it’s unnecessary since your body weight holds it down already. Hoping Model 1 comes back in stock though.

I actually have a ProForm rower and the seat cushion is slightly larger than the seat. That said, it works just fine. I have not had any issues with the cushion moving during exercise. I'm 58 years old, 6'2", and @230lbs. As a tall guy, the thickness did not alter my seated height enough to notice. As a heavy guy, the cushion makes longer rows much more enjoyable. I've only got a couple of hours on the cushion so can't speak to durability.

My husband warned me when I ordered this that it wouldn't work. I said it would. A lot of reviews said it would. It does not. I refuse to admit I was wrong so this padding this sits on my rower, mocking me and threatening to give me away. It really makes not difference in my comfort level, my tailbone still kind of hurts after 10 minutes on the rower and it doesn't even stay in place. The dog does like to run around with it so if all else fails I'll just say the dog ate my rower seat.
