I didn’t expect to like this as much as I did, it was a bit of a revelation. Totally different from any mafia book I have read before. Posy was utterly relatable and human and it was so refreshing to have a smart h that made sensible decisions. No doubt she made a lot of mistakes in the past but she was self reflective and she faced up to it, even if the H rammed it down her throat. I loved watching the H come out of his shell and try so hard to make her happy while still being true to his character. The action and drama made sense and wasn’t too convoluted like mafia books can sometimes be. It was also so refreshing that the H wasn’t a sex god from the beginning, it all hinged on what he felt for her and the h speaking up and asking for what she wanted. Again, so different but I highly recommend!

5 The Wrong Man Would Be My Downfall Stars ⭐

I deliberated for awhile about reading Run Posy Run. I actually had started it twice previously and it never clicked for me. Well now third time's a charm cos my head is still spinning and I couldn't put it down. Trust me it was a commitment getting past the initial chapters because our hero Dario was a major prick and Dear Posy needed a few home truths. But damn did this book do an amazing 360.

Posy thought she was finally in the perfect relationship with mobster Dario Volpe. Well until he accused her of cheating and kicked her out. Now penniless and on the run, the truth is staring Posy in the face. Used yet again.

What happens when the man you thought you knew doesn't exist. Because Dario showed Posy just what she needed to see. However there are pieces missing from this equation and now that he's adamant to have her back, the veil has been lifted.

Initially you're hating how this whole breakup has played out. Ruthless, cold, deadly. And as the lightbulb begins to flicker, you realize you're dealing with a sociopath and a woman who's a mess herself. Once Dario has Posy back in his possession, this game they have been playing is done. Now it's time to play for keeps.

I want this to make sense because the turnabout was incredible. When these two are finally stripped bare, it was creepy but also astonishing. How does a sociopath learn to love and how do you love one? This book was thrilling, really sexy and depraved, and I was a sucker for it all. There's nothing better when you don't anticipate how good a book will be!

Loved the book it was great, the story was written well and the characters were interesting. Posy thought Dario was a Prince Charming but she is starting to think differently. He is so dark and scary. Dario sees her differently and likes what he sees is her body. It is a dark romance with a twist. Run Posy Run is a dark mafia romance with an antihero redeemed by love. Standalone. Intended for adult readers.

Trigger warnings in this book for the regular kinds of intimate partner abuse, like rape, kidnapping, verbal and physical abuse; plus the spicy kinds, like cutting out a man's tongue in front of you to threaten you into not running away.
I want to thank this book for helping me discover that Mafia romance is not my bag, and up to...a third? halfway? through the book, I was reading to see when another guy was gonna show up who'd be the legit love interest. I kept reading after that because I wanted to see how much worse everything was gonna get, I guess.
My 3 stars I have given for the quality of writing.
Posy has had a terrible life and survives by dating mob guys who treat her like garbage. When the book opens, she's finally in a happy relationship with mob moneymaker Dario Volpe, unaware she's about to experience the mother of all rug pulls... Oof. Honestly, if you can get through the first couple of chapters, you'll probably be okay with this book.
Posy is intelligent enough to survive on her own, but not intelligent enough to stop fixating on Dario, who has a gorgeous face but has absolutely no morals at all and is explicitly called a psychopath in the text. Because he is. This man plays all kinds of mind games with her and power trips, and we're supposed to be into it because he's feeling feelings for this first time?
Dario... is essentially the Danny Lavery bit about wanting a man who will solve capitalism just for you, and who will murder everyone else in the entire world except for you, even though he literally could murder you at any time, but he won't. But he could.
I do prefer to read about relationships where one person isn't afraid of the other, but this was interesting to read once.

This was a very satisfying book and I’m surprised by how genuinely emotional I found it. I think the appeal overall was that it showed the hero actually doing proper work to improve on the mistakes of their initial relationship and to atone for how he had contributed to her existing trauma. For all of his flaws, he was the first person to tell her that she could say ‘no’. The relationship between the two of them was flawed and complicated, but it was one of the most emotionally satisfying books I’ve read in a long time. The writing was strong, the pacing was good, and the wider plot outside their romance worked well alongside it. I would recommend it if you want a dark mafia romance with a lot of angst and violence, I'd also be cautious: content warnings for sexual violence (mentioned / in past), dubious consent, revenge porn, graphic violence.

So I started this after it was highly recommended on a Facebook group and decided to give it a go. The way this book started I wasn’t sure but then the J/P started and it was just how I like it insanely over the top possessive.
Dario is in a league of his on when it comes to his obsession with posy. I devoured this book and found myself wanting more! Real page Turner with a true psycho feel, dark and addictive well worth the 5stars

At first I hated Dario because of what he thought of of Posy. Post is stronger than she realises but she has had a harsh up bringing. Her father did want her because she was a girl and so she wanted to find love but always looked at it in the wrong place. Dario kicks her out when at first he sees a video that had been edited and then realises his mistake and goes and finds her and goes against the Capo. He then realises he does love posy but is not sure of his own feelings.

I haven't read any of this author's books before and so glad I did!! Great spin, no excuses, no virginal innocent misses with a big bad wolf. Uncomfortable at times and weirdly it all works. Had to drain and re run bath bath twice while reading it as I didn't want to take time out ogf this book to wash my hair, dry or moisture. It was that good.
