This story reels you in - you don’t have to be a country and western fan or like mystery/suspense to enjoy this. I really enjoyed reading along and seeing what would happen next.

James Patterson and Dolly Parton - this was one book I had to read. . I have been a long time James Patterson fan and who doesn't love Dolly right. This was a lovely story, with a strong influence from Dolly. There is going to be a 12 song album of song that Dolly has written just for the book

As always with Patterson reads, I was up until very late reading until the very end. And I am not sorry about it all. This book will appeal to more than the regular James Patterson readers which makes me really happy.

Our main character is young AnnieLee Keyes, a singer with a big dream and a big voice. She arrives in Nashville to become a star, and to escape her past. She arrives with a small backpack and the determination to succeed. The music business is not for the weak and she makes some strong connections and friends with a legend of the country music scene who sees her potential. She is finally getting everything she has ever wanted, but she is tired of looking over her shoulder all the time. Her secrets are always there are are threatening to destroy her.

Bravo James and Dolly. This is one heck of a book and it deserves to be a bestseller.

Dolly Parton and James Patterson have teamed up to tell a country music story with an age-old premise … Young and pretty with a beautiful singing voice, a talent for song-writing, and hardly a cent to her name, Rose washes up in Nashville to find fame and fortune after running from her past. Once the novelty of reading a book by Dolly Parton and hearing her narrate one of the characters in the audiobook wore off, I was sort of ambivalent about this. There’s a lot less action and suspense than you’d expect from a James Patterson novel. It almost has a memoir feel to it and since Dolly has written her biography Songteller, I think I’d prefer this kind of story in that genre. The audiobook is narrated by an ensemble cast of eleven. It has high production values, but I always prefer one or two narrators at most.

When one of my favourite authors co writes a book with one of my favourite singers of all time, I just had to read it. An enjoyable thriller I found myself caught up in the world of a country music singer trying to get her big break whilst also hiding from something ominous in her past. Well paced and everything a James Patterson reader would expect. I couldn't help but hear the lyrics being sung in Dolly's amazing voice. Got to say I was excited when I heard Dolly Parton and James Patterson were collaborating and I was not disappointed from beginning to the end of this book, add in the sound track and I’m totally blown away.
Little Annielee Keyes/ Rose Mc Cord is more than a firecracker, she is a strong woman, a survivor and she never, ever gave up even in the darkest of times, which for her were numerous.
This story, was heartbreaking, heartwarming and just so full of love that you just knew there would eventually be a happy ending.
The plot was gripping, thrilling and intriguing mixing a dark edged mystery with the country music scene was inspiring, tossing in a love story angle with multiple tragedies leading up to a happy ending was just plain awesome.
Ethan is definitely my kind of hero, Ruthanna well every time she spoke I heard Dolly talking lol and Jack well he is a real sweetheart to.
I enjoyed this story immensely.

Loved the book fantastic story and you very never too sure how it was going to end m happily, but how.I love the pieces of sons thought they were quite relevant to the story at the time I had to read the book in one sitting which nowadays is three days, you get a bit slower with age. I would recommend this to any James Patterson and Dolly Parton you’d think they’d be an unlikely couple but they worked so well together together ]and the story was smooth with no bad breaks in it I recommend this book 100% and wish I could read it again as if it was for the first time.
