As you can see, these brand new Smith King scissors work terribly and in fact you would have a better time cutting any kind of hair with kids' safety scissors. The metallic purple color is cute but it dulls to almost a rusty brown color as long as it's in contact with the oils from your skin. It has an adjustable screw in the middle to change the tightness. I like that it seems to lock in place because my old scissors constantly have to be tightened. HOWEVER, even at the highest, most uncomfortable tightness, the results were exactly the same as the video above, so it's a moot point unfortunately.
All in all, the other stuff in this set works okayish for something that's only $20 for a set of two scissors, two combs and a cloth, (I mean how do you mess up a comb or even a razor comb after all) and if anything I would have rather seen a second razor comb in this set instead of a comb and a cloth. I mean think about it: you can literally buy a comb anywhere. Unless you have absolutely no combs in your house, chances are you have one that's as good as or better than this one. Meanwhile, razor combs dull so fast, are less available in brick-and-mortar stores than even thinning shears, and yet we get only one. But the scissors are utterly useless from the get-go anyway so there's no point, is there? On the upside, the case is cute. Once I head back to the beauty store and buy myself some scissors that actually work, I'll be storing them in this lmao.
