4K Review. Not bad. Still not uncut!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 October 2021Verified Purchase
This new 4K transfer is, generally, pretty good. The image is nice, sharp and clear, new details can be seen in most textures, and the colours and shadows and blacks and contrast are generally great... except in a few patches in which something has gone terribly wrong. One example of poor encoding can be found in the scene where Sidney first returns home from school: after stepping off the bus, she makes her way into the house and check out the vista behind her, namely what should be a clear blue sky. Unfortunately what we see is blocks of crunched blue colour, heavy pixelation, and lots of crushing. Not so good. That's probably the biggest flaw in the disc. The introduction of 4K encoding also seems to have done something strange to the opening sequence featuring Drew Barrymore - the wide angle picture seems to warp and distort far more than in other releases, which gave us a sense of motion sickness. Other than these issues, pretty much the only disappointing feature of this release is that - once again - the release is the cut U.S. version, rather than this movie in its full, uncut (gory) glory!

Remastered Blu-Ray!!!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 October 2021Verified Purchase
Finally the remastered version we wanted not that the 2011 lionsgate release was bad but it did contain a shimmer look throughout and dull with this 2021 paramount release it looks like a movie made today excellent picture and audio, colours are fabulous and it's sharp yes there are a few scenes including the first scene with Sidney and Billy in her room and at times they look blurry but only a few minors throughout no real complaint, this is the best it's ever looked and sounded and it can't get much better, fans will love it and fantastic price too, looking at screenshots from people buying the 4K the standard Blu-Ray actually looks better especially in colour and lighting!!!

Great 4K Transfer
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 October 2021Verified Purchase
Package arrived early and wrapped in great condition.
Having watch the 4K transfer of the movie, it really gets rid of the grainy lifeless colour featured in previous transfers. It lights up the screen with colours and also highlights the movies exquisite cinematography which includes beautiful wide shots of Woodsboro which are hard to notice in the original versions. My only knit pick is the new 25th bloody legacy special is 8 minutes long and doesn’t reveal any new insights which was disappointing.
However I am satisfied with my purchase as I am a huge Scream Fan who watches the original a couple of times a year.

Fantastic

Love this movie franchise,
When I heard this was being released on 4k I had to get it!
Everyone knows how good Scream is!
The 4k transfer is faultless, brings the movie to another level.
Definitely one to add to your 4k collection.

Scream DVD
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 March 2022Verified Purchase
First of all, no complaints with the actual film, it's still a solid horror movie, it's just the picture format. It's not been updated to fit new, wide TV screens. It's still in the box format and won't stretch. To make it worse, it's also widescreen that you can't deselect, so literally you're just looking at the picture within a tiny box in the middle of your screen. I know it's an older movie, but I own older and not had this issue, and this release was dated 2021, so there's no excuse why they couldn't have updated it.
