Very quickly got up my nose.. Some people don't cry, my son had a skull reconstruction when he was ababy and I didn't cry.. I have autism and for me that is normal.. People react differently to things, we're not bog standard, pattern card or come out of moulds.. I would react differently than others and the author fails to recognise diversity by the trite use of trope and trash psychology..

Was really good how Roorkes family was reintroduced into this book and helped to close the case. Now that another one has been read am waiting with anticipation for the next book .

The story was just fantastic as it moved to Ireland and Roarkes' family and because he is involved with the capture of his old enemy bringing Roarke inner peace.

I love these so much, unfolding the story a little more, with interesting angles, and snaps of history, learning a little more each time about each of the wonderful main characters, the poor victims and how the mystery unfolds. The most disappointing thing about this book, is that it's finished and I have to wait impatiently for the next to come out.

If I'm perfectly honest, this wasn't my favourite, it felt a little rushed I think. It would have been a bit better in my opinion if we had gotten a view into Cobbe's head as we do for the killers in some of the others in the series. Seeing his obsession of Roarke from his own head would have made him seem more real to me.

It wasn't a bad instalment, just not my favourite. Reading how Eve ran an entire department to get to one man was very interesting and the commitment from the other detectives and officers to Roarke was spot on. The investigation itself reminds you that cop work is tedious. I will probably be picking this up to read again as I tend to read from naked in death all the way to the new one coming out when it's time. I must admit, another thing that would have made me like this more? If Feeny and Whitney were the ones to get the collar.

Good book but shame about the price

I have bought, some more than once when transferring the series onto my kindle, because I just love a Eve and Roark. What I don't understand is the increase in buying the past few books in this series, really £9.99 for this one which is just to expensive.

However, I liked this fast pace story which had a bad penny from Roark's past determined to kill him and all he loves. In comes Eve and Roark's NYPD 'extended family' who will do anything to make sure that does not happen. The support network made this story hard to put it down. There was a lot of input from Eve's bull pen with her usual colleagues looking into all angles to find the bad penny. An emergency trip for the bull pen to save Roark's family in his homeland Ireland, brings everything to a head.

As I said, enjoyable read.

Aesthetics - the covers are looking very stylish and I do love to see what they will come up with
Cost - it's reasonable. She's Nora!
The Story - AMAZING!!! I wont repeat the synopsis. But I will say that is was jam packed with content - no wasted scenes, pages or words!! Sometimes fast paced, sometimes extending other areas of the Roarke/Eve world. We got to interact with most for the key players and some more than we are used to!! aka Whitney. Although at one point I thought 'that would never happen/the character would never do that' - I humbly defer to Nora on that as she is the creator and can have her characters do whatever she wants as she knows them best :)...I also felt I got two stories for the price of one - one spring boarded from the other - as they are masterfully intertwined it wasn't jarring and beautifully executed.
All I can say is I LOVED IT. It felt more inline with her early work (in creativity, substance and sheer enjoyment) which has been missing at times of late. Don't think about it - just read it. You won't regret it!!

Due to space issues, I have gone from physical book to digital buying of most books. Whilst I miss the paper, having the JD Robb collection on my kindle is heavenly! Apart from one thing... I can't bring myself to spend £10 on something I can't physically hold, which means I can'tbring myself to buy the "In Death" books the minute they come out like I used to. Weird, but there you go.

Having this one come up for 99p was a wonderful gift!

I have all of the other books. I love all of the stories (though I read some of parts through slitted fingers!). I have re-read them numerous times (at least 20 or 30 times for most of them!).

This one is up there up there with my absolute favourites like... the rest of them!! There are scenes with virtually ll of her friends we have met in other books; and it is well paced, exciting, and just... bloody good!!

Not that the last few books have been bad, because they haven’t, but I have been mildly disappointed as Roarkes role —- in the last few books——- has been more along the lines of an ancillary character. Well not this book, Roark is from and centre with as much page time as Eve. An old acquaintance from his childhood in Dublin is in New York, this man, Cobbe has always hated Roark and would see him dead, as painfully as possible, after first killing everyone Roarke cares about. Eve and Roarke will need all her team and friends, all his resources and contacts and it still may not be enough to capture a man who has eluded authorities all over the world for over twenty years. Cobbe is a straight out killer, the best at what he does and he’s coming for Roarke.
