I swore I wouldn’t do this again. Mix sports, school, and sex. But right now the only thing standing between me and the NHL is six feet of frenemy packed into a pair of formfitting jeans that have me thinking all kinds of things I shouldn’t. Mostly how to get him out of them.
I don’t just want Kolby. I need him. Because I’ve got to pass this theater class--yeah, I said theater--if I’m going to keep my spot on the team. When tutoring sessions turn into dates-not-dates over Shipley Cider at Vino and Veritas, I realize it’s going to be harder than I thought to keep my hands on my stick and off of Kolby. Worse, I think I might be falling for him. But I’m not ready for that. I want to keep this thing between us on the down low for now.
But Kolby hates secrets. Especially his own . . .

About the authors
Regina Kyle knew she was destined to be an author when she won a writing contest at age ten with a touching tale about a squirrel and a nut pie. By day, she writes dry legal briefs, representing the state in criminal appeals. At night, she writes steamy romance with heart and humor.
A lover of all things theatrical, Regina lives on the Connecticut coast with her husband, teenaged daughter and a melodramatic cat. When she’s not writing, she’s most likely singing, reading, cooking or watching bad reality television. Her novels Triple Dare, Billionaire In Her Bed, and Dirty Work were the winners of the 2016, 2018, and 2020 Booksellers' Best Award for erotic romance.
Sarina Bowen's Heart Eyes Press publishes contemporary romance featuring characters of all stripes. In 2021, readers will get 45 new romances, each one part of Sarina's World of True North. The Vino & Veritas series will include 18 LGBTQ love stories set in and around Burlington Vermont.

Regina Kyle had some mighty big shoes to fill as the last cab off the rank, and fill them she did. I absolutely loved Showstopper. I'm a sucker for a college sports romance, but it has to be done well, and after having a bit of reading drought in this genre, Showstopper fit the bill nicely.
Regina Kyle engaged me from the first page. Her characters were beautifully developed; it was impossible not to be wholly invested in both Adam and Kolby. The dialogue was intelligent, sharp and witty. The romance was swoon-worthy with enough heat to melt my Kindle without taking over the story.
I was highly impressed with my first experience of Regina Kyle's writing; I will certainly be adding this one to my library. This book was a fitting end to the Vino & Veritas series; it was, in every sense, a Showstopper.
Adam and Kolby have such an instant and undeniable connection, one which really feeds into how deeply natural their relationship feels. Adam, especially, stole my heart with how much of a giant cinnamon roll he is! Kolby is a bit more guarded and prickly, understandable given how much he’s been hurt in the past. The only thing I didn’t really like is that it felt like Adam always had to apologise and make the grand romantic gestures. I wouldn’t have minded if Kolby showed some guilt for his part in the end, but instead, they skipped over acknowledging this and only focused on what Adam had to make up for. It frustrates me a little when I don’t feel the communication covers everything it should, but nothing I couldn’t get past to enjoy their heartwarming reconciliation.
Kolby and Adam, geek and jock but both with hidden depths. They work when you'd expect they wouldn't. Enjoyed this read.
This is another instalment in the V n V world, can be read as a stand alone but honestly you want to read them all.

One is confident, has supportive family and is also nervous. The other is the same but with no family support for a long time. They both have difficult histories, but they eventually, after several twists and turns, make it to a HEA that at times looks impossible. Sweet, sexy and hot.

Adam is new at Moo U, and needs to focus on school and hockey! So there’s no room for fun , right? But there comes Kolby, ray of sunshine! Can Adam resist?

******SPOILERS******
From the last misunderstanding to the end did not sit right with me. Hannah and Kolby made a HUGE mistake and neither apologized to Adam (Kolby finally did but @ 91%) Hannah never did and instead twisted it all around so that Adam felt guilty for feeling angry and betrayed. Then the story continues with Adam being in the wrong and trying to make a grand gesture for forgiveness…. WTF!?! Actions have consequences, when someone cannot keep a confidence, especially one that could impacts someone’s future, they should be held accountable, not just be able to twist things around and go skipping off into the sunset. The ending totally ruined the book for me.
