About the Author

I have loved all K L Slaters books previously but this might have been writtenby someone completely different ?I wonder if it’s a mistake to rush out books so close together ? None of the characters seemed real, the plot grew increasingly confused and it was obvious from the start that darcy was the other woman not Joel s wife ! At the end I can’t say who was innocent or guilty as the whole ending was confusing and badly written ! Hopefully her next book will be back up to standard

Hmmm, it started off ok, with quite a decent writing style but gradually became more and more confused and downright silly! And it felt as if the author was equally confused, since there were several glaring contradictions, not to mention giving the air of having had to rush the ending - the characters became increasingly unbelievable and everything was suddenly revealed in the last couple of chapters as if she had reached her editor's deadline and didnt have time to explore the denouement fully.
I'll try another of her books as some reviewers have said this was by far her weakest....

It's my first time reading anything by this author. Darcy is struggling to cope with losing Joel and raising their two sons when she meets George. It's a story full of twists where the main character's all have secrets and their version of reality seems plausible enough until the end where Darcy’s and George’s versions are revealed for the real truth. I found it hard to leave down the book and will be going back to read more by the author.

Darcy is still hurting from the loss of her husband. She is trying to raise her two boys and resume normal life.
Her husband’s family have helped her out lots but what is the secret they are hiding?
When Darcy meets a new man will things improve for her?

The characters are well written and I enjoyed the storyline. It felt a little beyond belief in places but that didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the story.

The story kept a good pace and kept me guessing the details until the end.

It was a very good read.
