Good stereo cable

This review is for the 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo cable. There are a whole mix of reviews for other cables including usb cables here also. I bought this cable to connect my iPod to my portable speaker. It is nice and short at just under 30cm so there are no tangled wires or cable ties needed. The plastics feel good quality and the jacks are nicely moulded. Strain relief is moulded into the plastic at the ends of the cable. The jacks are gold coloured but at this price point I doubt they have any actual gold metal in them. The sound quality seems absolutely fine.

This is a useful, well made, good quality little cable that is perfect where you want to attach a phone or iPod to a speaker without miles of cable between. It is excellent value for the price.

How can a manufacturer / supplier sell this quality of connector cable at this price. Item looks well made with good materials and fits firmly into sockets when plugged in. Very good item for the price paid, I now only buy this type of cable from StarTech and have about 8 and have used them for well over a year without any problems at all. Would highly recommend these items.

I bought this for use with my Oculus Quest 2. The jacks don't fit in the 3.5mm connection in the Quest, nor will it fit in the 2 headsets I tried it with. Badly designed product.

I bought this for my car as I was using a long headphone cable that I had to wrap around the gear stick to shorten. This one is the perfect lengthfor use in the car. No crackles or twisting to get the right sound. Good for the car butnote this is not the right length for headphone use though - if this is your reason for buying.

I needed a right-angle aux cable to overcome a design 'feature' with a 2009 Fiesta, where Ford in their infinite wisdom put the aux input right below the handbrake lever, ensuring that every time I stop at the lights I would yank a standard 3.5mm cable out. This solves the issue perfectly. Five stars.

A perfectly functional audio cable, ideal for short cabling runs between a phone and car AUX IN socket, for example. They're probably not going to win any audiophile prizes, and I probably wouldn't use them in a home hi-fi setup, but in the car other factors are going to be limiting audio quality long before this short cable becomes an issue.

Needed a cable which would fit into the AUX socket in my car, whilst not being too long and getting in the way of the gear stick/hand brake. This is just long enough to allow the phone to sit in the cup holder whilst connected (my AUX socket is next to the hand brake). Now I don't need to listen to the awful Nick Grimshaw in the morning on Radio 1.

I n the end I used part of it to convert my low-cost Sennheiser headphones to Bluetooth using a tiny adaptor from 7-Day Shop.

I drive a BMW - although just the shape and size I wanted, I found that the connections to the car's aux and nano ipod poor and as a result the sound produced was filled with a constant shushing sound. Shame as the design was just right. Now have a replacement at similar cost which works great. I was perhaps unlucky.
