My kids love this book. So good to help early drawers or those exploring shape and characters.

Good, wholesome fun!

Both my seven-year-old son and I have spent happy hours drawing animals guided by the step-by-step instructions in this book. It's great for building kids' confidence in their abilities, and since there's plenty of space to practise it's fun to try each animal again after a while and see the improvement. I liked it so much, I've bought loads for birthday presents!

Nice, useful guide for children.

My 6 year old loved this and enjoys copying the pictures and then finding ways to add her own touches.
Whilst the animals are a bit boxy it is a really useful way for children to learn about breaking something into simpler shapes to make it easier when drawing.
I like that there is space on each page for practise sketches and that there are some different poses of each animal too. It really helps to solidify the shape based drawing technique.

A quality book for a child who likes drawing.

I am such a fan of Usborne books and this one is of the usual quality. The drawings progress in complexity throughout the book and the first section will be perfect for my drawing obsessed five year old. There is even space on each page for them to try out the technique. A bargain for less than a fiver.

Good for adults too, especially if the children ever ask you to draw an animal for them

Given as a present and I haven't heard whether it's being enjoyed or not, but it's one I would have loved myself as a child. Since that didn't happen, I'd love to have the time to work through the book now and have a go. Very clear, simple and do-able but impressive drawings. If I had this then maybe my granddaughter, barely 2 years old, would not have commented that my monkey drawing looked like a bear.
Great fun.
