The next day, when Ross introduces me to his dad, the last thing I expect is for him to be my hookup from the night before, in town from Atlanta for his son’s graduation.
The best thing would be to pretend it never happened, which is easier said than done. The more I talk to Harrison, the more I like him. We enjoy teasing each other, spending time together, and despite how successful he is, we both know what it’s like to have nothing. Neither of us wants a relationship, so when Harrison suggests a no-strings-attached fling, it’s perfect.
But between bills, worrying about Mom, and wondering how I thought I had what it takes to be a good teacher, Harrison’s always there, even when it’s hard for me to accept help.
Falling for Harrison wasn’t part of the agreement.
I don’t know how to trust, there’s a seventeen-year age difference, and he’s my best friend’s dad.
No strings attached has never been so difficult, because I’m pretty sure I want to be tied to Harrison for good.

About the author

Riley Hart is the girl who wears her heart on her sleeve. Although she primarily focuses on male/male romance, under her various pen names, she’s written a little bit of everything. Regardless of the sub-genre, there’s always one common theme and that’s…romance! No surprise seeing as she’s a hopeless romantic herself. Riley’s a lover of character-driven plots, flawed characters, and always tries to write stories and characters people can relate to. She believes everyone deserves to see themselves in the books they read. When she’s not writing, you’ll find her reading, traveling or dreaming about traveling. She has two perfectly sarcastic kids and a husband who still makes her swoon.
Riley Hart is represented by Jane Dystel at Dystel, Goderich & Bourret Literary Management. She’s a 2019 Lambda Literary Award Finalist for Of Sunlight and Stardust. Under her pen name, her young adult novel, The History of Us is an ALA Rainbow Booklist Recommended Read and Turn the World Upside Down is a Florida Authors and Publishers President’s Book Award Winner.

Zander is the graduate and Harrison is the older man with 17 year age gap between them. Another problem for the two is they both really enjoyed their night together and temptation is too strong to want to come back for more! They agree to a no strings sexual relationship. Trouble is the longer they are in each other’s company the more strings attach!
The slow burn change in Zander and Harrison’s relationship is beautifully paced and we get to see a HEA!
Overall, this story has left me swooning and wanting me to scroll back to page one to start it all over again!

Zander had a lot of hang ups and emotional baggage which was tied up in his non existent relationship with his father leading to a lack of trust in others. Harrison on the other hand had had a difficult life which he had turned around but he was kind, considerate and humble and so understanding of Zander. He had reached the age of 41 and had never had a relationship and was not looking for one. Best laid plans!
All the characters in this book were well developed but I have to give a mention to the wonderful Ross. I think his father Harrison did a wonderful job of bringing him up which he did as a single parent and he saw Ross as his greatest achievement. Ross was Zander’s best friend and such a lovely kind, tolerant and laid back person with a wicked sense of humour. He could have made things very difficult for Zander and Harrison but he only wanted them to be happy.
Riley Hart is a one click author for me and she never disappoints.

Despite the age difference, the banta from the first meeting you knew there was a connection. Even with Zander's trust and daddy issues, they both worked together to find a level playing field.
This was funny and heart breaking at the same time. Harrison was patient, kind and just wonderful the way he handled Zander.
Riley Hart did it again. Wonderful

Zander is terrified of commitment and as he has just started teaching is concentrating on that but fate has a way of derailing the best laid plans .
Great romantic read .

It was an easy 5 stars from me.
