An 80's classic!
Michael J Fox is Scott Howard an average high school kid, playing for his hopeless school basketball team and yearning for the hottest girl in school.Things however are about to change. Unbeknown to Scott his family tree has a slight issue, they are werewolves. Often skipping a generation or two, it arrives with full force much to Scott's dismay.
While being guided by his father (good turn by James Hampton) about the advantages and dangers of being the Wolf he starts to become the star of the school, turning around the basketball team's fortunes and becoming a hit with the ladies. However with great power comes great responsibility which Scott starts to learn with his new found fame as his friendships start to turn sour.
Bluray is a nice update on the DVD version with good video and an okay DTS mono soundtrack, it's likely to be the best it will ever be. No etras other than a trailer for the film.
The film, like many of the 80's, was not produced with the expectation that it would become a smash or cult hit but regardless this bluray is still a nice release.

Product description
He Always Wanted To Be Special … But He Never Expected This!
Like all teenagers, Scott Howard (Michael J. Fox, the Back To The Future trilogy) is going through some … changes. But unlike the rest of the students at Beacontown High School, Scotts changes include long hair that covers his entire body, claw-like fingernails, fangs, a heightened sense of smell, superhuman strength and the extraordinary ability to … play basketball? And thats just the beginning.
Naturally, these uncanny new features turn this lovable loser into the most popular kid in school. But by embracing his newly minted popularity, has the Teen Wolf lost sight of what it truly means to be Scott Howard?

Not good

This film has not aged well. I saw this back in the 80's and must have looked back with thick rose tinted specs. It's an overly simplistic plot, the quality of the film/cinematography is poor/amateur. Worst of all, was the choice of terrible music they used... Very bizarre. I can only imagine that whole thing must have been on a very limited budget. To think they had all that great 80s music to lift this film up... What a disappointment.

Love this film, the music is ace. So why did I buy this. Well it was cheap so a bargain really. But the pic quality was ok Def a better upgrade than dvd pic quality is grainy and sound was in mono not stereo Prob because the age of the film. It's one of these films that's prob not worth remastering as not a demand for it. But for 6 quid it's Def a better upgrade than my dvd but only just. I'm giving it 4 stars just because of the film. It would have been 2 stars for pic and sound otherwise
