Sadly, the Director has forgotten what made some of his other films so enjoyable and this example of arty-farty tosh left us so bored that after half an hour our enjoyment at Hugh Grant's over-acting was thoroughly exhausted, as was our need to hear any more use of the most offensive language the scripwriter could dream up to cover their deficiencies. This will surely be one of those films very quickly forgotten; you'll find my copy in a charity shop soon, no doubt along with many others.

The story is of plots, mixed loyalties, bribery and indeed blackmail and
is told by an extortionist Fletcher (Hugh Grant) who has built a dossier
over a period of time with the intent of receiving a large reward for
information on Micheal Pearson's (Mathew McConaughy) illegal empire and
the goings-on within.
He tells his story to Micheal's right-hand man Ray (Charlie Hunnam) telling
of how Ray intending to sell his London-based Marijuana Empire to the
highest bidder in the hope he can step-back and retire with his wife Rosalind
(Michelle Dockery)
However, there are those that will try to steal his domain from under him
resulting in an ever-growing death count and a series of double-cross attempts
within the groups that plot against him.
Will Fletcher get his 20 million? Who will come out ahead in this tangled plot?
Did take me a while to warm to this one in truth, however, warm to it I did...
A film with a superb cast-list has much to make you smile along the way,
moments to make you cringe with its frequent stong violence sequences
coupled with more than its fair share of strong language.....well, it is a Guy
Ritchie offering after all.
Well worth a viewing.

Guy Ritchie is back at what he does best; gangster comedy. An electric script paired with an all star cast (my personal favorite being Colin Farrell as the coach as he steals every scene he's in) another standout is an unrecognisable Hugh Grant as the Sleazy Narrative. This is definitely Ritchies best since Snatch. 9/10. Please make this a return to form, it's been sorely missed.

This DVD is worth buying if only to watch Charlie Hunnam alone. But wait, Matthew McConnaughey, Colin Farrell, and Hugh Grant (as Fletcher) gave equally riveting performances of their characters. Grant is virtually unrecognisable and truly out of his usual comedic self. Here he tries to be funny, but in a serious sort of way, and is hugely successful. The plot thickens as the movie moves along, and the action is varied and knocks one's head back in most of them. Michelle Dockery as Mrs Pearson shows that she packs a shot or two.

McConnaughey (as Mickey Pearson) is a (marijuana) drug lord in London and Hunnam (as Raymond) is his consigliere and enforcer combined. Henry Golding as Dry Eye, Jeremy Strong as Berger, and Tom Wu as Lord George, are cast as the villains attempting to take over Pearson's business, and Fletcher makes his move as an ultimate blackmailer, only to discover that Pearson and Raymond are untouchable.

This film may not be everyone's cuppa tea but for me it's another Guy Ritchie classic,if your a fan of Lock Stock etc then this wont disappoint..just buy it.
