There Are No Saints (Sinners Duet Book 1) Kindle Edition
The city of San Francisco thinks we’re rival artists.
In truth, we’re predators battling for hunting ground.
We never chased the same prey. Until the night we both laid eyes on Mara Eldritch.
Shaw wants to use her as a pawn in his twisted game.
I’m fixated on her for a different reason…
She makes me feel things I never thought I could feel. Want things I never wanted.
Only she can make me lose control.
I don’t know if I should protect her at all costs… or destroy her before she ruins me.
Mara knows I’m no saint. But she has no idea she’s dancing with the devil…
The Lark Notes:
I have always been fascinated by true crime, as well as by villains and anti-heroes. A serial killer is, of course, the ultimate anti-hero — the baddest of the bad boys. Redeeming a character who starts so evil was a challenge that inspired me to entirely new heights and entirely new depths. Come on this darkly sensual and utterly brain-bending ride with me! — Sophie
"There Are No Saints” is the first book in the Sinners Duet. Reader be warned: this book contains extremely dark themes that might be triggering to some. This is a steamy serial killer romance that will take you on a journey through the twisted mind of an artist on the brink of madness.

This is a slow burn and I really enjoyed the Dynamics between Mara and Cole. The sex when it finally got there was hot. I mourned the Oligati and showed my teeth to Shaw.
I’d recommend this story to thriller suspense fans who love art and slow burn romance.
She has somehow written about these characters so well and in so much detailed that words cannot describe it. She has created this character who is a literal serial killer, an anti hero, but there is something about him that draws you in and find something redeeming. Cole gives me very much Joe vibes from YOU, he was an interesting character and was very interesting to get inside his head. There is this charm about him that everyone is attracted to and Sophie has a way of drawing you into him. Cole is someone who doesn’t have any feelings but he is experiencing something he hasn’t before when it comes to Mara. The connection and chemistry between Mara and Cole is unlike anything, Cole is a guy that always is calculated, puts on different mask around people and thinks before he does anything, but he loses all control whenever he is around Mara.
This is the exact reason I read for these kind of books. Sophie did an amazing job writing this. I can't wait to see what the second duet book has install for us!!!
Cole wears many masks and has perfected his art to the highest degree. Mara takes his world by storm and makes him feel, unwilling to submit, she quickly consumes his mind.
Shaw is the jealous rival, always trying to get one up and he gets darn close.
This book had me hooked and on the edge of my seat from the very beginning.
Screw the fact it's 1am and there is work tomorrow, I'm diving straight into book 2 now.
But this book was anything but, beautifully written, you can definitely tell Sophie has put her heart and soul into this book, she’s done her research, she knows what she’s talking about.
Highly recommend and thankgod the second book is out now or I wouldn’t survive the wait
Disappointed that it ends in a cliff hanger and I have to wait for the 2nd book to find out what happens. Can't wait to find out what happens next. Thank you Sophie Lark.

This was my first Sophie Lark book and it won’t be the last, her writing was brilliant.
This story is dark, twisted, intense and just keeps you on the edge of your seat! Cole and Mara are not your typical couple but their chemical is undeniable!
Cole what an intriguing complex character I’m just fascinated by him he’s definitely my favourite 😂
Mara I kind of expected to be a weak heroine but she is far from it and I absolutely loved that!
Now let me just say… Cole and Mara in his studio oh my god that has to be one of the hottest things I’ve ever read!
I’ve honestly not read anything like this book and I need more! I don’t want to say too much because I really don’t want to give anything away just go read it and enjoy all this dark romance goodness 😜
*It does end on a cliffhanger book 2 will be out in December
*The playlist for this book was amazing and worked perfectly!!
The chokehold this book has over me.. Lord.. it's me again 🙏
I became completely captivated by the stark contrast in character tones with each POV switch.
Cole is so cold, calculated, and psychopathic it's jarring meanwhile Mara is a tornado of emotions just trying to survive from one day to the next.
This book is heavy on the trigger warnings, and definitely is not one to dive into blindly if you are someone with triggers, but I found it to be genuinely stunning. It's written so well. The trauma healing, the character growth, the plot structure, all of it gives the triggers woven in true purpose.
I ran to the kindle store to grab There Is No Devil, book 2 in the Sinners Duet, because there's no frickin way I can wait until January for Amazon to deliver the paperback copy I ordered 🤣
This is 100% in my top 10 reads for 2021.
I've read 188 books this year, the majority of which have been incredible, but this one will live rent free in my head.
I like my books dark and this didn’t disappoint at all. It had me all tensed up, holding my breath, devouring every word.
I’m ready for book 2 but, sadly, book 2 isn’t ready for me. While I await it’s release date I can check out Sophie Lark’s other books and hopefully they’re just as entrancing.
If you want a book full of strategy, fierceness and pure calculation then this book is definitely one to read
This is some of the best spice I’ve ever read.
There’s not much of it but that one scene 🔥🔥 and the build up and the intensity of it all.
Read it in one sitting.
The characters are nothing new but the story and the writing is all so good, different and refreshing.
So glad there’s not long to wait until the next one
