I'm only 40% through but will finish. Lots of amazing claims and statistics in here, pretty apocalyptic (page 145 "our desire for meat could well be what brings civilisation to an end"). The claims and statistics have a ring of truth and plausibility to them but clearly there are others who would challenge them. Do I feel the urge to go vegan? Strangely the book had the opposite effect on me, the sheer size of the issue makes an individual choice seem so impotent, if things are to change and if the threats are a clear and present danger something more radical than a few people in the first world going vegan are required. Perhaps Vladmir will get us first is my gloomy conclusion.
