I got this movie when it first came out, when i was in second grade or so, and after that, I had viewed this movie so many times since, that it in the end was broken for to much use, and probably not caring for it too much - we were children who can blame us?
So I recently found this Gift Set coming along with that novel, and I as a fresh reader wanted something physical in my hand to read instead of all the e-books, and then what could have been better then getting the novel that was made into the greatest movie of my childhood as well as the movie itself?
The movie is great! It simply is nothing more the spectacular! The animations and background designs are all beyond its time! The story as well is really great and touching; making me cry every time. Containing about everything you want in a movie; Action, emotions, love and adventure.
I also love the soundtrack, though it is not included, the movie will of course play the music occasionally, and it is just wonderful! Really capturing the story and feelings in the movie, as well as the pirate-theme.
The book was beyond my imaginations! I have not completed it just yet, but it is wonderfully written with really good techniques as well as the way Louis write, to really catch your attention and not wanting to just stop reading it through. It is like you are living the story itself.
As for the game, I have not tried it as my intensions of this purchase was more for just the movie and book, but for the two alone, it is really worth it, and I recommend every nostalgic fan of this movie, or curious persons, to buy this gift set to continue watching the movie, as well as reading the story behind it.

This is a great film, one of the best for a long time, I don't understand Disney at the moment, they are not bringing out enough animated films, it's all Dreamworks at the moment, if Disney can make films this good, what is going on, they should be bringing out at least 2 animated films a year now that they brought Pixar studios as well from George Lucas, 4 billion dollars.

Underrated film
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 July 2014Verified Purchase
I grew up with classic Disney 2D animation like everyone else of a certain generation, but I never saw this film as a child/teen. I watched it recently as an adult and I think it's a seriously underrated film; I can't imagine how it stayed off my radar for so long. The characters are engaging, the story and universe are charming and inventive. Definitely recommended!
