Great supporting chair

Love this product. I'm a bigger dude and it supports me just fine. If you want to see a review on youtube go to Kent Survial, long camp / kit review, he has one on there, also not a small lad. The weight of packing this seat for overnight walk in camp trips is not much to add to your kit at all. Having the back support from a chair on these trips has change the trips itself. Can sit quite low and so can sit in a tent on one.

Good chair with quality control issue

I bought two of these and I like them. There was a quality control issue with both chairs. The ends of the horizontal struts on both chairs were cut off sharp (fortunately the ends of the legs and seat support poles have smooth edges). On first disassembly while manipulating hubs on one chair the shock cord was cut through. Initially I blamed myself but on inspection saw that the ends were sharp on this tube for both chairs. I cut the the cord on the second chair deliberately and deburred the tube ends before replacing the shock cord with some 4mm shock cord from the hardware store. The original is 3mm but 4mm fits fine. You only need enough tension to locate the tubes as the hubs are forced together by the tension of the seat. I used sandpaper and a small grinding bit to deburr but it could be done with sandpaper alone.

Set up this chair after arriving. Sat on it once and the plastic cracked. This is meant to hold 135 kgs and I’m 20 kgs under that but wasn’t sturdy enough to hold me. Really disappointed as I was so excited to use this.

I was excited to get this as its a great deal. I set it up on arrival and sat on it. A leg bent out making it useless.
I will send it back and try one more but not at all happy with it sofar. (FYI I'm not fat lol)

After a few weeks of occasional use, and marvelling at how comfortable and lightweight this chair is, I am disappointed to relate that one of the major plastic joints which the metal legs slot into has cracked. It's not in an easy position to strap up and mend and I suspect that further use will end up with the plastic joint breaking altogether. So, not such a good purchase if it doesn't last. (It cracked whilst getting up from chair - at 70kg, I don't consider I'm too heavy for this chair.). Postscript: Trekology have been in touch and are going to send a replacement chair under their guarantee, so overall I am very pleased.

Get the sand cover!

Great package, light, packs small and comfy. .....

BUT .......
On the 4th day on a 10 day wild camping trip, some soft ground lead to the legs splaying out, bending.
Luckily I had the sand cover accessory (to use on sand, not lawn) which I used to hold the legs in situ after a little straightening out for the rest of the trip, but binned the chair when I got home due to bent legs

The chair should be sold with the sand cover mat, it's a scam to sell it separately.
I messaged trekology but got no answer...
If you want this chair, it is good, but get the mat .
Just a shame you get scammed to get the product to perform as it should.

This was the 2nd trekology branded item that failed on this trip just a few days in- so for me, one to avoid.

I was so excited to try out my new chair for backpacking / hiking. It’s not the lightest but still the weight is good, the build quality looks good, the fabric seems robust and it all appears (appeared) to be good quality…..

Then I sat on it and one of the leg brackets cracked.

I’d assembled it correctly and ensured it was all firm etc, but yeah, it didn’t last more than 2 seconds after I sat down.

I weight 35% less than it’s recommend load so overall, pretty disappointed so I’ve now ordered a Helinox instead.

Looking at other reviews, I am assuming I’ve had a one-off faulty one, so don’t let my review put you off, but I’m not impressed. I’m glad I tried it before my hike to be honest.

We bought two of these chairs for our holiday. Initially we had bought only one and one cheaper but very similar chair. It looked like the quality of these Trekology chairs was much better so we bought a second. Big mistake.

One pull tab ripped putting the chair together for the first time. On the other chair, and on only the second day of use (it must only have been sat in a dozen times or so) the stitching ripped in the most important place ejecting my wife on to the floor. Once I had finished laughing, I inspected the chair and found it was beyond repair leaving us with only one chair for two people and 5 days of holiday left!

She is a runner and 52kg so not really near the chair weight limit. In fact combined our weight is well under the max Trekology state.

The cheaper chair is holding up fine so far. I’d avoid these at all costs!

Initially very pleased with this chair - compact and lightweight, as well as reasonably comfortable. Unfortunately broke while a 150lbs person was sitting on it within first few uses - thankfully no injury, but seriously disappointed in the build quality.

What a brilliant concept! Although a little expensive for a camping chair (even with the Prime Day discount) I thought it a good buy for my son who has a new motor-home. The chair comes in a posh bag and is a most gorgeous shade of orange (his favourite colour). Sadly though, the material is impossible to fit over the frame (even after watching the assembly video); it is a good 2 inches too tight all round and, apart from sawing some metal off the legs, this chair is never going to function as a chair!
