I really liked this book, especially the beginning chapters where the author focuses on opening the heart and releasing to get rid of blockage in your heart to get rid of bad experiences and not being stuck with them for long time. To stop thinking too much and talking to yourself. The author suggests that our brain is definitely designed for a more productive and valuable task rather than just thinking to yourself and being obsessed with reviewing events and bad experiences.
However, I think the book is redundant in many parts, and the author could've compressed it a bit to make it more pleasant. If you skip the final chapter you haven't missed anything.
Recommended for those who want to learn more about self.

Most beautiful spiritual book that I have ever read, a true genius and I labels him modern Buddha:-).

One of the most profound books perhaps ever written as for the first ever in my life I realise who I really am. How i have been wasting my life living in thoughts and emotions rather than actually being present to live the life..
The book very nicely explains one of the most profound question “Who am I” and shows the path to live a life not in your thoughts or emotions by being fully present..
To reach there will take years if not the lifetime but this book is that foundation you need ..

This book is one of those books that just blows your mind. It opens your eyes to something that is right there sitting in front of you, but as you are so close to it you just can't see it. This has changed the way I experience the world and I am working on living a happy life and not letting things get to me, I just sit back and observe. Thank you so much for writing this book.

This book is about remembering how to live life so that we connect with Self. It acknowledges that learnt how to be distracted through the teachings of society and those close to us; now is the time to step outside the self-protecting barriers we built for ourselves and be free of worry and melodrama. Simply written. A great reminder how to enjoy life!

It was a good insight into coming into balance and ways to go forward. I did learn to see some deeper concepts in a new way. I did find it laboured ideas in the the first half which is why it missed the last star. I’d still recommend this book to others who are looking to stop the turmoil of mind.

This book is written in an easily digested and relatable way. Singer draws from many religious and spiritual teachings but the book need not be taken literally if you dont consider yourself a 'spiritual' person. You could 'believe' absolutely in what he says or you could consider it a thought experiment on the fundamentals of 'what is conciousness?'. I can tell already that i will re-read this many times as there is a lot to take in. Great value.

Every chapter had something to say to me to ponder and reread to let the information settle into action. Every chapter is a contemplation in itself. The words are succinct and easy to read. This is a hand book par excellence. I found myself returning to read and assimilate new meaning for my journey.

A book to read again and again
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 June 2018Verified Purchase
I bought this books some 6 years ago and it has been sitting on my bookshelf. The other day I was suddenly drawn to it and starting reading it. I couldn’t put it down. 6 years ago it would not have had the profound implication that it has had in my life today. The universe is truly magnificent.

The most life changing book I've read
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 February 2019Verified Purchase
I don't know where to start with this book.
As an avid spiritual learner I bought this from recommendation from my Dad and couldn't put it down. It incapsulates the way we should live our life perfectly, logically and with such ease.
I often find when I read books of this genre it initially sticks in my head but then fades with time, but there is something about Michael Stingers words that really resonates in my mind like magical words to refer to.
He goes through the journey of battling with ones inner dialogue, transcending to the power of energy and cultivating these skills to refine yourself and realising how simple life can be.
With these skills you can finally free yourself of your mind.

Thank you for writing this beautiful book. I've read it three times now. :)

Suffer with anxiety, racing and disturbing thoughts? This book will help.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 August 2015Verified Purchase
I overcame a real bad batch of anxiety a few years ago and it raised its ugly head again recently, I have worked through everything but the final and worst symptom is just my constant racing mind with intrusive thoughts and all sorts of things. I have read A LOT of books that cover this subject matter and I feel this is the best overall book that just cuts to the chase. Michael doesn't speak about specific symptoms, more just topics as a whole and this is how you need to treat any anxiety, stress or worry. If your in a bit of a crap place, just try adopt some of his teachings, just for 24 hours and I am pretty confident you will see a difference, even the slightest but over time old habbits will die and new will be born.
This is a great book and comes close to touching other teachings from great people, there is no science here, just a path which I believe is the way and only way to follow, you can try many other things, medication etc and keep searching for that cure, but the cure is to stop searching! listen to what Michael says and you will see a difference.
Be patient, it will take time, weeks, months, years but you will all of a sudden find yourself in a powerful place of positivity and confidence.

Not enough information to put the advice given into action
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 March 2019Verified Purchase
The reviews made me purchase the book as they were all so positive, unfortunately I got to about half way through and gave up. The chapters seem to repeat themselves and although the information given is inspiring they offer no advice on how to achieve the advice, you would probably need to purchase other books to follow the advice given. The concept is a wise one and the book is very comforting, I may go back to read the end but I lost interest almost at the beginning and have read better and more informative books than this, such a shame as I was so excited to explore this book. As for the delivery etc, I cannot fault, hence the 2 stars

Great read, hugely insightful

This book is pure fire!! Honestly, it puts a lot of things into perspective. Using some of the technics at times where I would have usually overreacted definitely sorted out a negative chain reaction. I am going to read it again so the info sticks. Great read, hugely insightful. Loved it! You will have several aaaahaaaa moments.
